Who works 4x10 rather than 5x8?

I wish I could pull off working only 4 10s.

I work 3x12/2x10 . On the 12 hour days i have to take my lunch late, otherwise im starving before its time to go home. I usually eat breakfast on the 12s and not on the 10s in order to move that lunch hunger a little farther out in the day.

shit I used to have a job where it would be 12-17 hours per day, every week. It sucked balls. Good money, but boy did I hate it.

I mean imagine getting to work at 10am and leaving at 3 am the next day, and then doing it again the next day and you could take a break, but they would get mad at you for it

I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I'm on salary so I don't count the hours.
It's primarily project work that involves an international team structure.
It's an awesome arrangement that took a ton of work to get into.
Now I laugh when I hear the traffic reports the morning. I couldn’t imagine going back to the ole 9 to 5.

My wife works from home and has the discipline for it (though she never turns her job off and works until midnight pretty often, getting up at 4:30am to go the gym...she's a freak). I could never do it. I just find too many other things that need doing around our house and lack the discipline for it. I can put in a couple of hours of freelance or "take home" work a night and maybe a few hours on the weekends, but I couldn't work a full 8 hours from home.

It was difficult to get into a healthy routine at first and did take a lot of discipline to make it work, but, over time, it's increased my quality of life.
I cut out an hour and a half of commuting per day (plus the related work expenses), and I’ve been able to use that time for exercise or general household maintenance. I also get more "work" done due to the lack of distractions.
It’s been great for me but I guess it’s not for everyone.

I would rather work 10x6 for the money, not even joking.

Just I realized today (and every other day when I used to be an 8-hour shifter when I was working OT), when it gets to about 2 pm I wonder wtf I'm still doing there and then time goes slow as crap. Almost like the last hour took just as long as the first 7.

4x10's is cake. I work 4x12 in this damn heat and still wouldn't trade it for 5x8. Having a 3 day weekend is more than worth it.

Oh: afternoon coffee ritual usually helps me out. I usually make a french press at work around 2:00 or 2:30. The ritual of the press calms and renews me, and the caffeine powers me through the remainder of the day and into the evening work time (when I switch to wine once the kids go to bed).
