Reggie Wayne vs Marvin Harrison

Which one is/was better overall?

No poll.

Hard to say.

I'm a firm believer that QBs make WRs so while these guys have had stellar careers, they've both done it with #1 overall one in a generation QBs.

My gut says Harrison. But the fact that Wayne is looking this good with Luck (still a rookie QB) is pretty darn impressive.

Harrison was a POS off the field but he was about as close to Jerry Rice as a guy can get on it...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Marvin Harrison is one of the primary reasons why defensive holding penalties are handed out like candy today.

Wayne may have better numbers if he plays longer but uh, it's not even close. Harrison was the better player. Jesus I can't believe this is even a discussion.

Harrison and Wayne would be remembered along the lines of Ernest Givens and Haywood Jeffires if they didn't have Manning throwing to them. Fine players to be sure, but fading with time.

i just drove through the philly ghetto the other week and its amazing that this dude has had storefronts there. he must be treated like a king because that area of philly is no place for people unless they have a huge influence in the culture.

its not like hes hanging out in a nice place of philly say where Eagles players live and stuff. The dude is in the ****ing pits. Where an entire economy is benefited from selling drugs.

As I said, Marvin is a real gangster.

I kept thinking of Marvin Harrison as Avon Barksdale the way people were talking about him last night. He sounds untouchable.

Marvin Harrison hands down. Even if Wayne plays next year and then retires, giving the two identical numbers of years played, Wayne is ~2,000 yards and 50ish touchdowns away from Harrison's numbers. Aaaaaaaand, Harrison didn't get to spend his entire career up until now with Peyton Manning, Wayne did, until this year. So the argument about who they were catching balls from is essentially moot, or actually favors Harrison in the "had to work harder for the numbers" category.

I think Wayne was probably more physically gifted in how he could get up and get the ball, but Harrison just ran laser sharp routes and had GREAT hands, to make up for his lack of showmanship in playmaking ability.

Even more impressive is the Colts organization for finding these guys. Even their backups make all the catches, Last night was good example.
