Sad but true. That might change if we'd go all in on QBs this year.

I personally don't think Alex smith is as bad as some are parading so I think we going to have to be looking for a developmental guy and hope we get lucky cause we aren't going to be in range foray blue chippers without trading up |

Unless Phat Andy pulls the ****ing Statue of Liberty out of his ass and floats over the MGM Grand we'll be in fine position to draft a top QB for years...

I'm not the biggest proponent of Alex Smith, but he's done enough to deserve a chance with our staff IMO. I'll take a strong chance of a playoff win why we wait and get our QB in the draft.

Well... Unlike Tyler Wilson, who shit himself a hundred times, Geno Smith has been impressive and remains in play at #1 overall, however unlikely it may seem.

I still laugh when people point to QB's taken in the mid to late first as examples of why you don't need to be at the top of the draft. They obviously missed that there is a new CBA and QB's are getting taken much higher then they were before. See guys like Jake Locker, Ryan Tanehill, and Christian Ponder. If you think a QB that was considered neck and neck for the #1 pick slips to the 20's these days you need to do the world a favor and drink a nice tall glass of antifreeze because it ain't happening. You might as well compare arena league stats to nfl stats because comparing comparing the draft 7-8 years ago to today is about the same thing.

That's because they traded for a QB that is a day 1 perfect fit for Reid's offense.

Do you think in this day and age that a QB that had a 50/50 shot of going #1 in the draft makes it to the 20's? |

As far as common sense is concerned QBs have always been over drafted and the new CBA makes that a little easier. That doesn't mean there won't ever be a decent QB drafted later in the 1st round though. So are you hoping for another 2 win season so we can get that franchise QB?

This is such a reach of a statement. In the right situation, perhaps, but if he ends up in say jax, or in oakland, hes doomed......
