Could use a little CP Prayer Mojo
My Pops is going in for a double bypass tomorrow. He lives in Phoenix and I am unable to be down there with him. He was admitted Saturday and he had great vitals, just a lot of blockage. We didn't expect bypass surgery but once they got in there that's what's going to happen.

Could use some positive vibes if you can spare some. Thanks!

Well, Dad should be out. I heard from my Step Mom as they were closing him up. Everything went well but they did find a murmur which means at some point later in life he will need a valve replaced. All in all I think he came out okay. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts.

Over the years the CP has definitely become and extended family of sorts and it's amazing how we can bash one another one day and pull for each other the next.

That heart beat makes it real. I remember when I first heard the heart beat of our oldest child. I nearly shat myself. I kept thinking, I'm not ready for this, I'm not old enough (I was 31), I need more money, etc, etc. Once he was born, I didn't have a worry in the world - just was thankful that he was a healthy little boy. THAT is all that matters.

Glad your Dad is doing better. Every day with your Mom or Dad is a blessing. I miss being able to talk with both of mine.

Just got a call, he is in ICU now and they are slowly waking him to get the vent out of his mouth. His blood pressure is going up and down but they said that has more to do with the pain he is in than anything. So I think the hard part is over with and now it's just getting him stable.

My dad went through the same thing. They'll keep an eye on him for a couple days, and he'll be up and around before you know it. Hang in there.

Yep. It's not exactly a quick surgery to be back on your feet. Glad to hear that he's recovering - the hardest part is over.

that was the worst part for me; driving down 3 hours to Arkansas while he was in surgery; hopeing to god he'd get through that.
that first big hurdle etc.

We got there about an hour after he was out; he was still out of it, only opened his eyes a few times. I held his hand and told hime 'Hey Pop...good news. the surgeons were Democrats" and he held up his hand (still out of it/under anestesia) and gave the 'OK' sign lol.
