With Berry and DJ hurt he probably felt they needed someone to fill those voids. You dont need 11 Chiefs out there.. just 2 or 3 and the rest Indians.

Sounds to me like the coaches and FO want him to take the torch from Hali as the leader at OLB before they are ready to commit a big part of the cap to him.

I bet "work ethic and leadership" means "leadership heard he was routinely smoking pot still" and that he quit this year.
The way the guy improved since we drafted him shows that he studies his craft a lot and is very coach able. I don't buy that anything came from the coaching staff. |

Doesn't mean much till it's official, but glad they're moving in that direction at least.

Houston does more than just rush the passer. He goes back in coverage, asks to stop the run, play man to man Nd he does all these things really well

So let's say Houston's contract ends up in the $90 million range, what is going to be an acceptable number for Poe whenever that time comes?

McCoy is getting almost $14M a year average. Suh is fixing to get a new contract. Those two should give us a decent idea of Poe could demand.

I'm not a believer in long term deals.
