ANOTHER DGB THREAD!

Dorial Green-Beckham visiting the Chiefs today

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-chiefs-today/

While many pre-draft visits are for the sake of smokescreen, or to firm up medical information, many of them are for teams to look a player in the eye.

Likely along those lines, the Chiefs are bringing in one of the most talented players in the 2015 NFL Draft today, who comes with considerable baggage.

Via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Chiefs are hosting former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham today.

Green-Beckham has also visited the Bengals and 49ers, and the Vikings and Ravens have also met with him. Plenty of other teams probably have as well, to see if they are willing to gamble on a player with explosive ability and a checkered past.

Green-Beckham was kicked off the team at Missouri after a pair of drug arrests, and a domestic violence accusation (though no charges were filed). He transferred to Oklahoma, but never played a down there.

If you trust him, he’s the kind of game-breaking talent which any team can use, and getting him with the 18th pick might be a steal. Weighing whether they can take such a chance is the kind of thing most evaluators can’t decide before meeting someone face-to-face, which the Chiefs will do today.

dgb 4.49 vert 33.5 (20lbs over his playing weight)

aj 40 4.50 vert 34.5

dez 4.52 vert 38

jon baldwin didn't fail because of his skill set, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with comparing dgb to baldwin... baldwin was lazy and never worked to refine his game, but he was extremely talented. that being said though i still think dgb is much more athletic on the field. i've never seen baldwin make several guys miss in the open field, and i've never seen baldwin go up so high, he t bagged the defender.

the wco definitely isn't the best fit for dgb, but he can certainly succeed in it.
And that's what I'm saying with DGB. Where's the reports on him working on his routes? You heard that shit all over the place with a guy like Odell Beckham. He's sloppy on the field, relying on his athleticism and size to be the focal point versus being a receiver. It worked for Dwayne Bowe - up until the point where he actually needed to be a receiver in a system like Reid's.

I don't think DGB fits at all for the Edwards West Coast system Reid runs. At all. He is not a refined, dedicated receiver. He's a throw it up and go get it guy. That isn't going to work in this system with this QB.

And I'd still be seriously concerned about his dedication to the game as well as his off the field concerns.

That's a whole lot of question marks for a guy you are picking in the first round.

I wouldn't do it.

I would to, though #18 for Agholor is pretty steep considering that McBride, Dorsett, Hardy, Greene, etc. will be there later....

Eh, I don't know. Agholor is decent. He works hard, is a solid receiver, has the upside in the system. I wouldn't bitch about the pick, depending on what's still available at that point.

I do like Tre McBride better regardless of round, but Agholor is decent.

The amount of stupidity on this board should amaze me, but after Genogate it's expected.

I'll buy Rolex's for the entire board if he's not drafted 1st rd.

But this is also the fan base that think RG is the most important position on the field.

The reason I like Agholor is his open field ability mixed with route running and work ethic. He is a former RB who is dynamite as a return man, but isn't tiny. I just think he would absolutely kill it in Andy Reid's system.

But you're right - Lockett, Hardy, Dorsett... there are tons of options. This is why I wouldn't freak out if we go with a fatty in the first round. There are still options later for getting a productive WR to pair with Maclin.

My dream is still to trade back in the first, pick up an OL with the first, but have more ammunition in rounds 2-3.

I like mine in platinum, thanks. Why the **** would a team draft DGB in the first round when guys like Jalen Strong and Breshad Perriman are just as athletic, more productive, and don't have the red flags?

Unless you think 7 wide receivers are getting drafted in the first round.

Please for the love of Jeebus stop comparing him to Calvin Johnson. He's nothing like Calvin Johnson....at all.

I'm not at all surprised the Chiefs are putting quite a bit of time into DGB. There is plenty of talent to put him on their board yet plenty of baggage to take him off. They really have to get a feel for whether he's worth drafting and if so, where. He's a guy you don't blindly draft. The primary purpose of visits is to get more clarity on players you're unsure of something about. They aren't to have milk and cookies and say "hey we really want to draft you." Probably 98% of the players that reportedly come in for visits don't get drafted anyhow.

It's called "Due Diligence". Dorsey wants to meet with guys that might be available in later rounds, as well as free agency and the waiver wire.
