Chiefs announce Bray as the backup QB
http://arrowheadaddict.com/2016/05/2...p-quarterback/
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a surprising declaration on Tuesday afternoon. The Chiefs are still a little more than two months away from the start of training camp in St. Joe’s, but we already have some very interesting news on the depth chart front. Reid has proclaimed that Tyler Bray, not Aaron Murray or Kevin Hogan, is entering training camp as the primary backup quarterback to Alex Smith. Murray was a fifth-round pick back in 2014 while Hogan was a fifth-round selection in April. Despite being an undrafted free agent in 2013, Bray has stuck on the roster but never appeared or been active for a game in the regular season. He was placed on injured reserve last year after sustaining a torn ACL in a pickup basketball game. Bray has all the physical tools you could want. He’s 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds and at 24 years old, might finally be seizing the moment after sitting behind Chase Daniel and Murray. It will be fascinating to see if Bray can hold off Murray and Hogan in camp, not having thrown a competitive pass in two years. |

I'd love to be wrong but I seriously doubt he's Tony Romo. |

Nice.
I expect him to beat out Alex in 2017

This is prime developmental time for these 3. Once the season hits, the starter gets the majority with the backup picking up a few practice snaps and the 3rd giy not getting much at all.

Not really all that dumb. He could have a point. Maybe it would be better stated as none have any experience but might be capable.

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl...e79597052.html “Somebody’s got to be the No. 2, so he’s the No. 2 right now,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “We’re trying to get as many reps with each one of them as we can, but somewhere you’ve got to distinguish them.” Bray said he was told last week that he would open OTAs as the No. 2 quarterback. “Nothing’s locked in,” Bray said. “We still have a lot of time to go until the preseason.” Reid agreed, adding that Bray’s seniority — he joined the club as an undrafted free agent in 2013, while Murray was taken in the fifth round in 2014 and Hogan was taken in the fifth round this year — played a role in the decision to start him out with the second team. “That’s kind of it,” Reid said. “He’s been in here the longest of the three.” “It’s as wide-open as you can get,” Reid said. “None of them have experience.” |

I'd much rather have my backups be draft picks with potential than to be paying $4 million+ for Kyle Ortons, Chase Daniels, and Ryan Fitzpatricks.
