Doctors make a lot of money, but their salaries are still only six figures. I doubt that would have made any impact.

Yes but how long can he actually make money in the NFL vs injury risk.

To a guy who can make even more money over the long haul after he retires, that's important.

He could potentially get into a situation where his medical career goes tits up if he gets a concussion or mangles a hand.
