Kareem Hunt, Bar Fight?

Browns are aware of new Kareem Hunt incident, and have spoken to him
Posted by Mike Florio on July 1, 2019, 5:16 PM EDT
AP

Ezekiel Elliott is back in New York to see the Commissioner, and Kareem Hunt may not be far behind.

The Browns running back, who will miss the first eight games of the 2019 season due to a suspension arising from multiple prior incidents, was involved in an incident over the weekend. A Browns spokesman tells PFT that the team is aware of the incident, and that the team has spoken to Hunt about it. The Browns had no further comment at this time.

TMZ.com has video of Hunt speaking to police, following a Saturday night incident at a Cleveland bar. Hunt was not arrested or charged.

One report quotes the owner of the bar at which the incident happened, downplaying the incident as a “small argument” between Hunt and a friend.

An unnamed witness tells TMZ.com that Hunt was indeed involved in a “physical altercation” with another man, but that it wasn’t clear whether it was a fight or simply horseplay. Police can be heard on the video telling Hunt, “I saw him push you.”

When the Browns signed Hunt, they possibly placed him on some sort of a one-strike arrangement. Whether this incident crosses whatever line the team put in place for Hunt remains to be seen, since it depends on whether the Browns (if they placed Hunt on a one-strike arrangement) would regard any controversy whatsoever involving Hunt to be enough to get them to terminate his second chance.

Guy runs w a lot of anger and some of you are surprised he got into a fight at a bar and kicked some drunk bitch who was calling him a ****er? Come on.....

If true all it means is that he got into a bar fight. It happens. If he gets suspended longer, oh well, but it's not like the guy committed murder. None of you were there or know what happened. Maybe there was a guy there being a dick and Kareem lost his cool. Whatever..

You want these guys to be play violently then get all judgemental when they arent angels off the field. Got news for you -- doesn't work like that.

Sure it does. 99.9% of NFL players can get through an offseason without knocking someone out in a bar fight. Kareem Hunt is just that 00.1% who can't control themselves.

I haven't seen Frank getting in continuous trouble. I have been busy lately so I may have missed it.

Hopefully Frank Clark has changed since that incident. It doesnt mean Kareem Hunt cant as well.

Just pointing out most NFL players are not angels. They play a violent sport and get their anger from somewhere. You guys expecting them to be are a little naive.

Btw Mr Judgemental what do you think should happen to Kareem if allegations prove true. Browns release him? Ban from NFL? Like im not sure what you want to happen. Ppl make mistakes. Dont see this as a huge deal. Didnt Revis knock some guy out not too long ago? Knicks player got into a fight at a club? I mean damn just cause these guys have money doesnt mean they arent human.

The problem is, this is incident number 3 or 4 (can't remember which) including the stupid deal with the girl.

Honestly, you act like these guys just fall into trouble by accident or something. I like Kareem as a player, but I'd bet that employing him would be a scary prospect. He's very talented, and yes, it's a violent sport but you don't hear about 90% of players having this problem. At some point, you have to (as an employer) look at this and go "Damn, this guy is either the unluckiest dude on the planet or he's got a problem". After he lied to the Chiefs, the Chiefs went with option 2. Now it's up to Cleveland, but don't act like this is just some random thing with this guy.

You would think of all places a bar would have plenty of cameras inside and out not to mention patrons with cell phones. Leads me to kinda believe there is very little to this story.

I will say if Hunt wants to have a reasonably long career for a RB stay out of nightclubs and bars and keep the entourage to a minimum.

Or the owner wants to protect him and the other person involved is getting paid off to not press charges. I'm betting that there isn't much to the story but there are other clear alternatives too.

If it wasn't for his entourage he would have beat that girl senseless. His entourage did a great job of protecting him IMO.

So Andy Reid can't fix Frank Clark, either.

I do wonder why I keep seeing the incident from last year being referred to as Domestic Violence. By my understanding of that term I don't think it fits with kicking a woman you met that evening. Assault, sure. But there was nothing domestic since it was not in a person's home and did not involve a significant other.

1. Where is there any proof that she said that?

2. Hanging out with that crew that night, how many times do you think she might of accidentally perhaps heard that word?

Most chiefs fans don't think kareem should have been suspended for the original incident.

My problem with him is that despite knowing he was in trouble, he went day drinking in Ohio. Where he got into another fight. After he was under the microscope he was hosting vip parties in Vegas. Other people have an issue with him lying.

Now, he gets cut. Loses millions. The browns stick their neck out to him not for a second chance, but a third chance. And he's at a bar. Again.

I don't have a problem with him. But he has a huge problem and he doesn't seem to realize it. Some people mistakes. But most of the people you named have shown they learn from them. The issue isn't kareem making a mistake and getting into a fight... Sometimes shit happens. Going to a bar... That's something he can and should have controlled.
