Different way of Looking at the SB and Brady

Look I'm ok with getting roasted for this take and I'm cool with it but a few things I had to put into perspective with the game.

1) Lets say you just switch QB's for that game and everything else is the same. What is the score? Bucs 49 Chiefs 0? or 3? Brady did nothing great, just did what he needed to do and their running game was very good and they won. Brady won the game but it wasn't because he was amazing at what he did, just managed enough and we sucked enough ( plus the fun calls from the refs) to not win.

2) Brady because of his Hardware is considered the GOAT by most but I still struggle to see what he does that is so amazing? I mean he is competitive, almost a competitive prick which is good, you could say he is a good leader, but watching him play football is just like watching snow melt, he NEVER does anything that makes your jaw drop. In NE he has been apart of a team that had amazing defenses and last night was the same.

You could have put about 20 QB's on Tampa's team last night and won the game if we only score 9 points, Brady was just one of many that would have won that game.

Brady is a good QB but not amazing, nothing about him screams greatness except his rings and that may be enough for most people. For me it wasn't even close, the MVP was the Buc's Defensive line and it wasn't even close.

For me Jordan is the best ever but if it was just rings alone then Bill Russell is the best.

I give Brady his due much a lot of his "greatness" comes from being on the right team at the right time.

No he didn’t. Green Bay played the dumbest defense in NFL playoff history and he hit a wide open receiver. Without that his first half was pedestrian.

I would argue that a GOAT QB is one that wins multiple SB because of who they are vs the team being exceptional around them . Again I think you plug and play 20 QB’s in football on the bucs in that game and they win. Brady did very little “special” to make you think “wow this guy is amazing “ he is in the right system . Again I think we under estimate his “want to win at high prick level” but everything else physically is just meh.

It’s like Jordan and what makes him be thought of at the best of all time . Yes he won a lot of rings but he had the “special” the plays he would make you would simply marvel over and say, “there is no way on gods green earth I could ever even attempt what he just did” with Brady I’m not sure if there isn’t a throw most HS qbs couldn’t make .

He does not have the “special “ just have the luck and the desire , period

I think for most of America it’s both, the titles and the “special” . Brady has thr first down but has zero special . Jordan , Gretz, pele etc had both, unfortunately Tom will never have the special

I love Mahomes, but I think Romo was right. This was his chance to take the throne and it slipped away. Regardless of the bad calls and decimated OL, Mahomes didn’t even get a single TD. We weren’t even competitive. History won’t consider any of the extenuating circumstances. Only that Brady beat Mahomes handily when Brady was an old man and Mahomes was in his prime. I hate it, but that’ll be the narrative for the rest of his career.
I don’t disagree but just trade QB’s and the score is much , much worse

One thing that stood out last night to me was what I saw after the game. Every single teammate of Bradys that walked up and gave him a hug said, "Thank you". I don't think they were thanking him for being an average QB on a stacked team. I think Brady elevated the entire franchise walking into the building secondary to his history of accomplishments and likely his work ethic on and off the field that none of us can see or witness. Thats my guess.
Right but he isn’t a special talent and foe me a goat is someone who had both, he did not . Maybe a Elway or Montana or Jonny U all had a lot more special than Brady

Whether you like it or not GOAT is now synonymous with most rings. Ignore the media especially the single digit IQ types like Bayless and Stephen A.

Let Mahomes' career play out and the chips fall where they may. Priority should be to preserve his body and play another 15 years. If his team is in the hunt every year and has Brady's luck we could be talking 4-5 rings. Then we could be looking at a Russell vs Jordan situation.

This is the part I am not sure about. Brady's coaches have always put him in very favorable situations and he is accomplished/vocal enough to have the gameplan amended. It could have turned into a keep it close punt fest and a fourth quarter do-or-die one possession game with his luck and the refs coming through.
I don't know how much sway Mahomes has over the coaches. But I hope he has enough leverage to check out of bad calls. He will need it for a long and successful career.

Right but if it’s just rings and not the “special” then Brady is the goat of the nfl and russel is the got of the NFL, Iniesta is the goat of soccer and so on. Greatest of all time should be 90% accomplishments and 10% special (plays they make that amaze you, make you shake your head that this special person can do amazing things ) I have never ever ever seen brady be special . Just his typical sink and dunk passes most of the season .

Overall I think he is a player ranked in the 20-30 range , still a hall of famer

Like your take but couldn’t disagree more . In letter grades our Oline was a F, no a D or D- but a solid 45%. Their front 7 is a A and that game a A+, Brady would of been air delighted to a hospital , patty wins that game by 45

As it stands now Brady's special is measured by his mental abilities not physical. Playing in and winning that many single game eliminations has to mean dealing with a lot of pressure not necessarily making once-in-a-lifetime throws. He has been in great situations and gotten insanely lucky. Those are the only aspects I want for Mahomes to give himself a chance year after year. If you play long enough as the #1 or #2 seed you are bound to win quite a few rings.

Right and it’s a good point of view that his “special” isn’t something most fans will see accross the NFL. You could watch Jordan play and it wouldn’t take more than one game to think “ that guy does things with a ball that’s just unreal” plus he won a lot of rings , that combo is why Jordan and not russel is considered the GOAT. For me Brady is just “most Lombardied QB” but he isn’t the got because he has never wowed me and I bet if you were honest with yourself you would say the same thing .

Look he is a very good fundamental QB but has zero special that is visabal.

Tom Brady has been to 14 conference championships, 10 Super Bowls, and has 7 rings...because of luck and refs

Get a grip, guys...he's great.

Step 1. rent a car
Step 2. park it in an enclosed garage.
Step 3. drive it over the edge of the Grand Canyon.

Step 4. Have fam and friends verify for CP.
