This year might be different because of the reduced cap, but if you go look at signings, trades, waivers, and terminations from the past few years, June is not a very busy month for NFL transactions. There are usually a few draft signings, a few free agents signed that are just filling in rosters, and a few cuts of marginal players that teams felt unnecessary.

You probably already know all of this, but for those that don't -

Since the NFL allows two players to be moved with a June 1 designation prior to that date, most teams usually don't wait. It makes it easier for the player because they are able to move on. It makes it easier for the teams because they can sign these players. The Chicago Bears this year used the June 1 designation on right tackle Charles Leno, May 3 and Washington signed him on May 15th. I believe termination and signing became official after June 1.

If past history continues, don't expect a lot from after June 1 transactions.

Now that I've written all of this, watch the big trades and cuts start happening.

1. Chiefs were at the 90 player limit.
2. We had Anthony Hitchens, Dorian O’Daniel, Willie Gay Jr, Ben Niemann, Nick Bolton, Darius Harris, Omari Cobb, Kamalei Correa, Riley Cole, and Emmanuel Smith at LB.
3. If you look at the Chiefs roster and try to see where Correa fit, he probably was not making the 53 man roster.
4. By cutting him now he might be able to sign on with another NFL team.
5. Chiefs needed the roster spot so they could sign or trade for that BIG June 1st addition.

According to overthecap.com and spotrac.com, his base was $990,000 with a cap at $850,000. No dead money in releasing him.
