I’m not convinced Arthur Smith is a terrible head coach. I would have liked to see what he could have done with even an average qb. He took over the team in absolute cap hell, and a god awful defense.

If you’ve ever heard him outside of a press conference he’s actually a funny dude. But he rubbed a lot of ppl the wrong way, and the fantasy community hated him

The falcons are just recently removed from a long reign of dimitroff and pioli. So the shitty patriot way is probably still pretty rooted in that org. Did those guys burn too many bridges or are they options. God I hope not.

The lack of a QB is 100% on him and is symbolic of the guy trying to outsmart every one in the league. To the point of arrogance. But agreed, it's nuts because the team is well coached

If that's all you're going to do with him, you're better served spending that 1st rounder (top 10, IIRC) on an OT or DE and building the team AROUND the game manager quarterback.

Maybe not if you're trying to win a championship, but I'm not convinced Bill is. I think he's just looking to stack some regular season wins, get his record and go home.

The best way to do that is to get Cousins or Mayfield and use your 1st rounder to either protect him or rebuild a defense that was in absolute shambles as recently as 2022.

Eh - if you give him Mayfield instead of Ridder, they're still bad. He's still gonna run a dinosaur offense and they're still going to have the same problems.

He's a guy who makes his QBs look worse than they are, IMO.

But with Daniels you could have him run it alot and or play action.

I dunno, the game manager thing doesn't excite me. Especially when you're gonna have to pay said game manager alot.

I'd draft Daniels, use that money to go buy a couple vet defensive players and move on.

He was the evolutionary Belichick.

Belichick would always make SOMEONE fantasy relevant, it was just a different guy every week.

Smith makes NOBODY fantasy relevant. Ever.

He's taking BB's torture of fantasy owners to the next level.

Sign Cousins, use your 1st round pick on a guy that can help you win now and then, out of a sense of obligation, go ahead and Draft JJ McCarthy in the 2nd round as a bone to throw to the folks that think he's actually trying to build something long-term in Atlanta...
Unless you have an elite QB, there is no long-term in the NFL. There are windows.
