Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

What's BS? They are really making those, or they won't act like that?

Needs a stripped Lower Reciever and mags right? Is it a decent price for a first build gun?

ps; Just to clarify my post the CCI ammo I mentioned wasn't for 223(my bad) the ammo I purchased was for 38 spec and 357 it was about 30% cheaper than std cased ammo and looked like a hell of a buy. Turns out it wasn't. Last edited by driver2; 02-06-2014 at 01:58 PM.. |

The kit you listed included the buffer tube, spring, buffer, buttstock and a LPK that usually end up costing an extra 50-75. It's a decent deal. Add it to a stripped lower and you have a $500-600 AR. I can't speak to JSE quality, though. I have no experience with them. |

Something I recently learned is that "mil spec diameter" can often mean the tube has machine cut threads on a mil spec diameter tube. A true mil spec tube has rolled threads and theoretically should be stronger than a "mil spec diameter" or the fatter "commercial spec" tubes because of the depth of the cut to make the threads. The fact they don't mention what material it's made out of tends to mean it's the softer metal as well. This probably doesn't really matter for most guns as you're not clubbing someone over the head with them, but I found the slight quality difference interesting. |
