Would you trade the no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

We ran into this topic late Saturday night in another thread.

I personally don't like Cam at all. He's got a ton of talent, but is an absolute idiot. He can't even learn a full playbook. Newton has put up some big numbers, but they haven't translated into a lot of wins.

He is 13-19 as a starter over 2 years.

58.9% comp | 7,920 yards pass | 40 passing TDs | 29 INTS | 1,447 rush yards | 22 rushing TDs |

Would you give up our no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

This as well.

Didn't he break 4,000 yards passing his rookie year, too? It's obvious what a talent this kid was, is and will be. If Carolina were stupid enough to give him up for the number one overall pick, then you do it as fast as you can (they're not that stupid, of course).

It's never going to happen now. We could likely have had him for the first overall pick a few years back when Carolina was heavily rumored to be considering moving him.

That's the thing, BCD pimps this like we let Newton slip through our fingers. I won't say he was never up for any price, but Carolina wasn't about to give him up for a 1st, certainly not the 1st overall in the draft we picked up Fisher.

If we had the 1.1 that landed Luck, maybe. But even that is a 50/50 proposition even now given Luck's youth and potential.

'Could likely' is BS retrospective wishful thinking.

It's quite beautiful, but the best was TigerBob doubling and tripling down on it.

I just want a quarterback that can put the team on his back if necessary.

Instead, we get 'yeah we lost, but it wasn't Alex's fault!'

Me too bro but it is very hard to find. You've got Cam, Luck and Wilson as the only ones who can do that since Rodgers was drafted in '05.

3 QB's in 10 years that can do that.

Flacco did it when the Ravens won the sb.

He did but let's be honest. He's not on any of those QB's level.
