It is because the police brought in x-ray machines to look at walls and see if baby was in there.

Just a few years ago the mom lived by a woman in Ft Bragg who killed her baby. Did the same thing in saying someone came and took the baby in the middle of the night and later they found the dead baby in the attic.

Police in Kansas City are investigating after a motorist said he spotted a man carrying a baby in Lisa Irwin’s neighborhood the night the baby turned up missing.
KMBC-TV reports Mike Thompson said he saw the man wearing a T-shirt and carrying a baby near Lisa’s home at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 4.
Thompson said he waited about a week before he called police because he didn’t immediately make the connection between what he saw and Lisa’s disappearance.
“I was going south on 435, I exited on 48th Street, and I see a man who was walking up Randolph carrying a baby,” Thompson told ABC News. “And I looked at him, he was about 30 feet from me, he turned and looked at me, and I looked at him. It’s 4 o’clock in the morning, 45 degrees and the baby doesn’t have a blanket, a coat, nothing. And this guy is walking down the street. I thought it was kind of weird.”
Thompson said the baby resembled Lisa, and that he would be able to identify the man if he ever saw him again. Thompson said he has been interviewed by police.
Meanwhile, police are denying word that a body has been found as they look for the missing baby. A widespread rumor made the rounds earlier in the week. The police posted the denial on a Twitter account. Authorities say the search for the missing baby is still active.

I'm beginning to wonder if something didn't happen earlier, and that everything the parents did on the night the baby was reported missing is just a cover-up/alibi type thing... including dad working overtime for the first time, and mom getting drunk.

Be interesting to know if the neighbor that the mom was getting drunk with actually saw the baby or not.

I heard on news that the mom won't let police question the two boys.

She even made a statement that they just might know more because they talked about hearing a noise, but she said she hadn't asked them about it cause she didn't want them involved or the whole thing to affect them.

Such a wierd statement to make. If their sister is missing and maybe dead, they are already affected.

Usually if something happens to your child and you are not involved, there is no stone you would leave unturned no matter if you have to question some kids or anyone else.

I was watching Fox 4 this AM. They reported that the boys are going to be interviewed again this Friday. And I agree totally with the rest of your post.

And I wonder when the boys actually heard this noise? After they went to bed as she reported? Or was it the night before maybe? Or earlier that day, like before breakfast?

This friday? Wow. Almost a whole month after the baby "went missing".

She had made the statement about the boys hearing noises some time ago.

My guess is she gave herself time to manipulate what the boys would say. I hope they interview them alone away from the parents.
