I haveb't seen the latest updates but for a while I saw a lot that did not have him at #1.

He's the guy, SNR. You watch. They'll get him.

When?

Geno has been the #1 pick on 80% of all mocks tracked since midseason on.

When? Just over the last few weeks I guess. I just haven't been sold on him as much as some here are. I am not saying he isn't the best out there, just from what I have seen on his highlights, things I have heard others say and what not, I am just not sure he is as good as the hype.

I hope he is and I have confidence that if he is indeed that good he will be our draft pick and I will support that.

If we don't draft him I will support our coaching staff in that decision as well.

Majority have mocked Geno Smith at #1 with one here or there with Wilson. The only other player I've seen as of late that isn't a QB is Joeckel. This is all since it started to become clear mid-season that the likes of KC and JAC were going to be at the top of the draft. The only out-liner I've seen lately is Kiper with Glennon (another QB). Barkley hasn't been in the discussion since September at the latest.

I vehemently disagree, but there it is. The dream is over before it began.
He didn't say this but it isn't your fault necessarily. People naturally tend to perceive what they expect to perceive. And as a Chief's fan you, like most, expect to be dissappointed.

It is like telling yourself that these hires so far are too good to be true so there must be a caveat and that caveat is we won't get a QB with the first pick. I don't believe it though because I am not worried we don't go QB #1 overall.

I have never seen so many uneducated college football fans state that Geno is amazing. I'm not talking about you in particular, I'm talking about the Geno Smith bandwagon or minions.

Now, he very well may be, even though the two games I saw, he was far less than impressive.

But it's just shocking to me that there is SUCH a consensus on Chiefsplanet, yet every other reporter, draft scout, etc. and so, is hesitant to share that assessment.

Just because he's "mocked" at #1 overall doesn't mean that he's going to be a great NFL QB.

He could be the best of a bunch of shitty QB's. He could be a game manager. Or he could become a great QB.

But this draft class has more questions than any in recent memory.

HUNT: Heh.

KK: And we know who it is.

HUNT: heh

KK: Are you privately rooting for that?

HUNT: Well...I know that they've gotta find a solution at quarterback. And they're gonna start with the guys on the roster, uh, free will be an option and the draft will be an option. And i wouldn't be surprised to see us do some mix of all three, because andy's gonna want to take a number of guys and evaluate them. I'm not expecting that to happen... but you never know. Also there's a possibility that we could trade that first pick. That...that's something that'll be in play when we get to the draft.

KK:
But ideally you'd love to get a report like that, wouldn't you? That "Oh, my... Now that we're digging, there's a guy, and he's CLEARLY worth the number one pick, and he is the man, and he's gonna be a franchise player. That would be the BEST thing you could ever hear, wouldn't it?

HUNT: Uh...(laughing) well...wouldn't mind....wouldn't mind hearing that, but I know I'm not gonna hear it.

KK: You KNOW these quarterbacks aren't that good?

HUNT:
Well, I don't know that, but-

KK: THEY know that.

HUNT: Um-

KK: (pressing) They TELL you that?

HUNT: They haven't done enough work were they can definiliv... definitively tell me that. That work will take place in the next month and we'll have those discussions. We better leave it at that.

KK: The popular sentiment out there that there is not a great quarterback here - you're of the belief right now that's probably true.

HUNT: I...I think so, yeah.

KK:
That's the worst thing I've heard all day.

I heard exactly what I heard.

But if we want a QB in the draft, wouldn't you want the perceived best one? If it is such a poor draft class for QB's, why would we wait until the 2nd round for the left overs? It isn't like this FA class of QB's is that great. Then you would be expecting us to have to trade or pick-up the Matt Flynn's, Josh Freeman's, Michael Vick's, etc. of the world.

Again, it's a myth.

Scott Wright thinks Geno goes #1 overall. Dan Shonka has Geno the #1 rated player on his board, regardless of position or team draft needs.

The consensus exists EVERYWHERE.

There's more people that believe Geno has elite potential than there are people who don't.

It's just that the people who think he doesn't are much better EXPOSED.

I'm not even going to begin to get into that argument until after The Combines.

I can't wait to see ALL of the QB's perform. I'll definitely Tivo the NFL Network the day it's broadcast.
