Watched The Next Three Days last night.
Thought it was a little slow, wife called it somewhat boring, but overall a pretty good movie. Posted via Mobile Device |

I finally watched Let Me In. It's pretty good, especially in the acting department. But it ultimately serves to show how great the original film is. Let Me In is not a subtle film by any means; it is quite forceful and blunt at times. A large part of the greatness of Let the Right One In is its understatement and ambiguity.

Finally saw Black Swan and The Social Network.
Social Network - spellbinding from beginning to end. Didn't even realize they used CGI on the twins. ****ing incredible. Black Swan - a straight up LSD trip. I've decided I don't really like Darren Aronofsky's films that much. All his bullshit gets in the way of the story. Still glad I saw it, very entertaining. Natalie Portman's pretty overrated though. Pun intended. Next up - Inception

Just watched Devil, Wow that was really good! the movie didn't get great reviews when it came out but that's how it is nowadays when a movie flirts too much with the fact that there's a God and a Devil among us. This was interesting, well made, suspenseful. I would have pushed it a bit further though, the producer got probably too scared of involving Jesus in it as it would have made a truly religious movie. I would put it in the same category as "Knowing" with Nic Cage.

There was a small movie a few years ago with Henry Thomas in the Appalachian mountains, forget the name, but if it had had better editing, and better overall production value, it would have been a great movie. I think it generally was written off by distributors due to the quality of the production (not to be confused with the performances, which are terrific,) but the Christian theme ended up taking the blame. I find that sad. Just looked it up, The Last Sin Eater - 2007. |

Inception was cool. I like to interpret the spinning top as symbolism. Cobb has finally realized his dream of reuniting with his kids. I read some stuff that says you hear it drop after the screen goes black, but I couldn't.
I don't think it deserved an oscar for special effects, though. And I think it would have worked better as a TV show. In other news, I really have to say that Leonardo DiCaprio is becoming one of my favorite actors. Ever since Gangs of New York he keeps putting out awesome movies. I'd like to see him in some Harrison Ford action roles as he gets older.
