Fisher to LT?

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs HC Andy Reid said he plans to go to camp this summer with former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher playing left tackle.

Sorry if Q

Yeah... the niners have had more success than the Chiefs. I'm not here to rub it in your faces. On the contrary. I don't even talk about the niners except to not lie about being a fan (I live in Sacramento - it was either the niners or the raiders - give me a break). I'm a fan of Smith's and so I am now a fan of the Chiefs. What's the problem?
That is a good point. You HAVE kept your trap shut about the 49ers. I didn't even know you were a fan until htismaqe said so.

When the Smith trade happened, we had 49er fans showing up in DROVES. It wasn't just that they wanted to lecture to us how happy we should be that we got Alex Smith, it was also that they brought their own board drama over here. And if that weren't enough, several of them were DIRECTLY in our faces about how terrible it is that we were negative about our team.

Many of them have left and now rarely post (thank God) or they've blended into the forum and have actually turned into decent posters. But you can't blame me for being shell shocked any time I find out there's another 49er fan I don't know about in the mists of Chiefs Planet.

That's true, but that draft probably had a better stock of talent in it. Chiefs were just unlucky to be 1.1 in a weak draft class.

As a 49ers fan, who has experienced tremendous general success for the past 30 years, I imagine it would be strange.

Because your team has actually given you reasons - repeatedly and consistently - to actually be hopefully optimistic about the moves it makes, even if there is no actual data to support that optimism.

When your team kicks you in the junk repeatedly for 30 years, the ability to be hopefully optimistic fades for many.

But as a "silver spoon" fan, I wouldn't expect you to understand it or not find it strange.

Wasn't trying to hide, just rarely see it as relevant to the discussion. I get it. There are folks on the niners boards that say I'm not a niners fan for supporting the Chiefs. Folks here that say I'm not a Chiefs fan since I'm also a niners fan. Pretty weird that I'm not a fan, cause I sure spend a lot of time thinking about and routing for those teams.

Chiefs were just unlucky to be 1.1 in a weak draft class

Chiefs were just unlucky to lose the way they did to the Colts in 2013 and 2003

Chiefs were just unlucky to have a kicker to miss a billion field goals in 1995. Or to get ****ed royally by the refs during the Donks' first Super Bowl win. Or to pick the only QB in the first two rounds in 1983 who sucked dick. Or to get snookered by what a bag of shit Scott Pioli really was.

Luck is only a factor if you leave circumstances up to luck. The Chiefs in playing it safe for decades and decades have allowed luck to do just that to us.

It's about ****ing time they made their own luck.

Oh yes they would. They would be pining for it again.
HOF QB play is good and all but if there is no SB it won't mean anything more than Derrick Thomas' career either.

I mean, yeah. Duh.

Just one Super Bowl trophy in the 90s under Marty would be all it takes to take the edge off so many of us. We'd still get frustrated and get really opinionated, but you wouldn't see the rampant (and warranted) skepticism that pervades this forum.

Bonus points if it was Steve Bono or Elvis Grbac who got us that trophy. That would almost completely remove the stigma of trading for 49er backup QBs.

Yeah absolutely.
The mid 90's was the only time in my fandom that I think the Chiefs were literally just a player or 2 away from a SB. They never made that over the top push to make it happen or leave no doubt they went all in. Yes that offense of Vermeils was nice but we were consistently in the playoffs in the 90's every other decent team were really just playoff sniffers.

I don't see why people are so bent out of shape here? Reid is a winner. Alex Smith is a winner who's played damn good, especially at critical moments.

Did you expect them to have this mess cleaned up year 1?

Ouch... sorry. I actually forgot about that. Not sure if that stings anymore out there in KC and that wasn't my intent. We damn near lost them last year ourselves to Seattle. Was inspiring to see this city fight so hard for our shitty basketball team.

Would have destroyed this city as the Kings are all we've got (with the exception of the RiverCats - AA ball)
