Yadi would get lazy every once in a while with blocking balls but it was more about overconfidence. Once one got past him, he would get the pads down to make sure it didn't happen again. |

Nobody hates anybody as much as Cardinals fans hate Matt Adams.

Willson Contreras is probably ready to be in the MLB now and he'll likely be a September call up. He's just tearing the cover off the ball every where he goes right now and he actually has an arm to throw guys out. Trade Montero and make Contreras the starting catcher for 2017 with Schwarber giving him a breather every now and then. And Maddon likes 3 catchers, apparently, so go out and grab some cheap defensive vet like Saltalamacchia or some shit for depth. If it all ends with Montero the **** off the team I'll be happy. I'm tired of him being shitty behind the plate and acting like he's ****ing Mike Piazza with the bat. The only thing he excels in is "pitch framing" and that comes into play like maybe 2 calls a game? Who ****ing cares? |

Your an athlete. Try to make your body better equipped to do your job. Fat ****s don't last in sports except in Sumo wrestling. I'm a fat ****. But, I'm no longer getting paid to be an athlete. People don't cheer for the team I'm playing on. The way I see it is that it's a slap in the face to the fans that he doesn't lose the weight. He doesn't even hit home runs. A fat **** .220 singles hitter. What is there not to like? Matheny is moving up my chart pretty damn fast though. A double steal with no outs leading with Fat Adams and a free swinger at the plate?

Not exactly a vote of confidence, but I would bet Adams ends up helping us more this year than Moss. He isn't the highest on my list to loathe, but with Kosma and few from last year gone he has certainly moved up the queue.

Moss could Hancock himself tomorrow and he's already provided more than Adams will.

Moss has already done more to contribute this year than Adams will do for the remainder of his Cardinal career. We can only hope that period isn't terribly long. I'm not sure how Adams went from being a guy that could drive multiple different kinds of pitches in the high minors to being a guess hitter with an elongated swing and no power. It's virtually impossible to become as awful as he's become with his minor league track record. He was a young lefthanded slugger with some pretty nice advanced skills. Now he is quite possibly the most worthless player since....well Tony Cruz and Pete Kozma. I'm not sure with Mike Matheny would do with himself if all 25 players on the roster actually served some purpose. I'm guessing that's why Mozeliak doesn't fight over the last 2 roster spots - the dumb bastard won't use them anyway.

Has there ever been a more dominant stretch of pitching than the one Arrieta is on right now? It's absolutely incredible.

Don't believe so. I think Gibson's 1968 season with a 1.12 ERA comes close but Arrieta's got 24 consecutive quality starts right now and since his last loss, which was Hamels' no hitter, he's got something like a .80 ERA and the Cubs are 16-0 or some shit in his starts. Oh, and 2 no hitters in 11 games, which is the 3rd shortest span between no-hitters in MLB history.
