While I think MJ is kind of a jackass, I don't see his comments as that bad. If you read them in full, you understand where he's coming from. He doesn't necessarily make a negative remark about it, just that he wouldn't be interested in doing that but that the game has changed.

He always does have the ArrowheadHawk option of switching to a super power team at any time though, so he has that going for him.

It's not good at all. The competitive balance was already tough in the NBA. Now, if this turns into Paul and Anthony joining forces somewhere, it will further set them back. It's far better for the NBA to have studs on a lot of teams.

Both of those players played great defense. Grant was money from the elbow. Now, Rodman was terrible offensively, but his impact was tremendous on games. Bosh does not play much defense. He's a one-dimensional scorer and decent rebounder. He's great as the focal point of an offense, but I'll be curious to see how he does when his touches are cut in half.

Generally, by the time you are in your teens or late teens, you are locked in on your teams. It takes a special sackless bitch to jump on a bandwagon.

Wow. Who died and made you the god of all fans? Its not like I own or will ever own any Heat shit. I just think they will be fun to watch. I have never really followed an NBA team. And if one moved to Kansas City I would follow them in a heartbeat. I have been a Chiefs and Kansas fan since I was a kid so does that make them ok for me to root for. I'm sure you welcome all the bandwagon fans that support your teams.

And I'd argue that James/Wade/Bosh compared to Garnett/Pierce/Allen is a whole lot closer than you think. Garnett, over 15 seasons, has averaged 19.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.4 spg. Bosh, in seven seasons, has 20.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.2 apg, 0.8 spg. Allen has averaged, over a 15 year career, 20.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.2 spg compared to Wade's 25.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 6.6 apg, 1.8 spg over a seven year career. Pierce, in twelve seasons, has 22.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.8 spg. James, in seven seasons, has 27.8 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 7.0 apg, 1.7. spg. That ain't that far off, especially considering the shared load diminished stats that Allen, Pierce and Garnett have had over the last three seasons. I think it's a very valid and even comparison in terms of players joining together in order to win a title. |
