Well, I think its way too early to determine what we can expect out of Withey. He really hasn't played that much, he was the focal point to stop by the other team (something that probably hasn't happened since high school), and he played part of the game on an injured ankle. All that and he still pulls out a triple double isn't too shaby.

As he gets acclimated, as the opposing defensive focus switches to T-Rob and as (hopefully) he recovers from injury, we can get Withey to be what we need him to be: a shot blocking/altering, rebounding, putback scorer that supplements a team short on height.

Being something like Sasha Kaun isn't a bad goal for him. He just doesn't have the same hands or tenacity, though. I hate how he always brings the ball down when he catches a pass or rebounds...it creates a lot of turnovers and allow opponents to get in position on him.

I agree, but some players just have to get into the flow of playing. He really hasn't had much flow to speak of. Playing everyday, for better or worse, will help reinforce some of those skills. I think once (if) he finds confidence in what he's supposed to do, he can become a good asset for us. Kaun had a lot of natural physicalness to him. I think the model Withey needs to follow is Chris Piper.

Definitely. I learned to keep it up in goddamn high school.

I haven't paid attention to what the rest of the conference has done. What do the purple pussies, MU, OSU, and UT look like?

Texas has Myck Kabongo who's a one and done Top 5 NBA draft pick, so yeah, they won't suck.

And he faced a front-line whose tallest guy was 6'6".

He looks like an uncoordinated oaf, and a p^ssy on top of that. I hope our offense doesn't EVER rely on him to touch the ball.

Yet another Torontonian...their 3rd in the last 2 years. KU should really get in on the Canadians (although, I guess they tried with Anderson).

Texas, though, lost as much talent as we did (Thompson, Joseph, and Hamilton) and they don't have a Thomas Robinson to cover that up. I think we'll be the better team, but I still ****ing hate J'Covan Brown.

Baylor looks like the top competition for KU in the B12 right now with Perry Jones and Quincy Miller. Missouri looks OK with Denmon there, but they would have been a hell of a lot better with Bowers.

This guy ranks us 2nd. There's not enough talk about what a dominating presence TRob could be this season, though (or any talk).

Most pussies make their free throws, though. If he could do that, it wouldn't be so bad.

Honestly, if I was 7 feet tall...shooting FTs is probably all I'd do. I don't understand how he can be so bad at it, it's not like he's shooting with Shaq's form.

Texas has the pipeline on Canada's elite. That pipe will be open as long as Rob Lanier is on that staff.

Anderson might have been a good recruit, but he wasn't elite and we only went after him because DeAndre Daniels went to UConn, IIRC.

No shit. It doesn't take too long to refine a shooting form that is not terrible. It takes a long time to be absolutely nails, but to be acceptable, doesn't take that much work.
