Vick has been playing great lately. Svi as well. Bragg still needs to get back on track, if he was ever on in the first place.

I doubt Mason wants to sit one minute. Any chance of an NBA career is going to depend on just ridiculous production this year. And playing 35 mpg a game helps that.

![]() I do work as a marketing intern in the AD. I did similar work at my old school, but that honestly sucked ass compared to the same thing at KU. It's not always glamorous work by any stretch of the imagination, but it's been a hell of an experience working behind the scenes and during games (football, M+W basketball (including Late Night), volleyball, soccer so far + office work). We (interns) basically do the promotions that the full-time staff plan and implement. Right now, Men's and Women's basketball are going on, which are completely different days of work for interns. For MBB, there are a TON of full-time staff from the office working the game, pretty much everyone. Interns don't really do much during MBB. I am usually standing in the Northwest (mens entrance) or Southwest (womens entrance) tunnel with a full-time staff member to basically help them if they need anything. Things like "fan trivia", t-shirt toss, and the flag in the student section are all interns usually do during men's games. From the UNC Asheville game, you can see us rolling up the K flag over the student section after the under 4 timeout. Men's games are the easiest because it's the biggest production with the most full-time people working. Women's games OTOH are a completely different story. The interns run almost all of the show and it's where we get most of our useful experience. Usually one or two full-time staff will be on headset next to the scorers table running through scripts during game, while a couple more interns will be in the NW and SW tunnels on the headsets (as opposed to full-time staff during MBB), directing and preparing for in-game promotions that the interns who aren't on headset that day do. I've found out that working in sports means that not being noticed means you had a hell of a day of work. As such if we ever brought the K flag over the student section upside down we'd be in for it for sure. Just ask the Browns marketing staff how their flags went this year ![]() ![]() For example, the locker room access that I have had has come from ball signings that the marketing office sets up for the team four or so times a season. But so far ~1000 fully signed balls by the team has come out of the locker room. How it's set up is that the coaching staff and players will line up around the locker room and they basically form an assembly line, sign the balls, and then give the balls to us. Not glamorous or recognizable work, but it's cool to be up close with those guys. Just listening to Bill tell stories about his past players, and talking about different referees that he likes and others that he doesn't is a pretty fun way to spend a couple hours. Side note, Jerrance Howard is a hell of a guy, always says hello to everyone he sees whether it's a full-time staff member or an intern. Though, working in sports humanizes the athletes to me for sure. I wish I could've gotten a quick picture of the locker room, but I have to act like I have been there before even though I am going insane on the inside because of the people sitting two feet away from me ![]() Took this during the SIENA game, basically an idea of my vantage point ![]() ![]() Last edited by C3HIEF3S; 11-30-2016 at 01:37 AM.. |
