Alex Smith, seven games extrapolated to 16 games:
3589 yards, 58% completion, 6.3 avg., 16 TDs, 9 INTs, 41 sacks

Steve Bono, 1995
3121 yards, 56.3% completion, 6.0 avg., 21 TDs, 10 INTs, 21 sacks
Gonna keep this to compare next year when Alex has his 2nd year in the system like Bono had in your comparison.

You do however have to go to great lengths to keep making up reasons why he keeps winning and why that won't last. You put your presence on the board on the line on the notion that this team would win less than 8 games, after 7 weeks they are undefeated. Every one of your comments is a "Yeah but..." "Yeah they have the best record in the NFL, but that doesn't mean anything because that contradicts everything I have been saying for the last 6 months." How many times can you be wrong before you just give up and admit it? You're going to complain about and not enjoy one of the best seasons the Chiefs have had in the last 20 years because you didn't agree with the trade made half a year ago and you would rather be right and have the team fail than enjoy the success. That's sad and it goes against everything sports is supposed to be to the fan.

Yeah his one missed deep pass outweighs the 98 yard touchdown drive he finished with a TD run, or his 25 yard run where he also drew a 15 yard penalty, or the 3rd downs he converted. Or the fact his team of which QB is the most important position won their 7th in a row to give them the league's best record. All that stuff is outweighed by the fact he missed one down field throw, every other QB in the league hits every single throw every play right? Just throw deep who cares if you win or lose, just get 300 yards baby!

He doesn't complete balls down field...like ever. The problem is with the way this defense has been playing NONE of these games should be close and they have been, all thanks to Alex.

I guess those two 40+ yard passes to Avery don't count? Keep bitching about having the best record in the league, did you forget you were 2-14 last year?

If we had a competent qb we would be super bowl champs. Alex severely limits our team.

We had three drives that were worth a shit against a crippled texans defense. That is not going to be enough against playoff teams.

HAHA 2-14 to 7-0 but the new QB has nothing to do with it. Did you ever actually play sports, or is fantasy football the extent or your experience? All I hear is a bunch of what could be or what would be despite the fact you went from worst team in the league to one of the best with a QB and coach change. Winning in the NFL doesn't just happen, you a Chiefs fan of all people should know that.

A Texans defense that came into the game statistically as the best defense in the league. Try again junior.

I am ok with Alex as our QB and he has very well contributed to making this team reach 7-0.. But to also say that he is doing fine and isn't holding this offense back is in denial. He is good enough to keep this team afloat, but he is also the one keeping this team from being dominant.

Yes some members on here are overreacting, but at the same time there a large number that are under reacting. I think we can all agree that he is firmly in that 15-20 range and is good enough to get us to the playoffs and possibly advance a round or two, but we are still an upgrade away from being a true contender.

In yards. After throwing five pick sixes on the year. Talk about misconstruing statistics.

He is an NFL QB so you'd like him to put 1 of those 2 within reach.

Save the expletives for some of the crap Brandon Weeden pulls.
I got to watch that piece of shit in person yesterday, in the rain, in the cold. What an abortion of a player he is. Just shitty. This prick even looked shitty in WARM UPS. Throwing streaks out of bounds. My god.

I don't think anyone is ignoring this defense. I think they are quite fun to watch. The offense has to get better. Its been the mantra for weeks. I do think one thing you said was incorrect. The Colts showed last night that you can slow down the Broncos. They battered Peyton, and Darius Butler until he got nicked completely shut down Wes Welker. The Broncos are beatable.

Alex Smith is a huge anchor to the offense. But he is not the only ANCHOR on the offense. Lets not kid ourselves. What you have to do when you have a mediocre qb, at the very least, is surround him with weapons. I have maintained for weeks that upgrades at the receiver, and tight end positions would do wonders for this team. And don't even get me started on if Charles gets hurt..

No no. They are number one. Just ask Simply Red, and for me to state that their statistical place on a stats website doesn't accurately display where they rank in the scheme of things, makes me a troll.

They are DA NUMBER ONEZ!!!!

We are a long way from the end of the season, and we are 7-0, yet you've already pronounced us playoff losers? Are you ****ing kidding me? You have no ****ing idea what will happen, Nostradamus.
