Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Wasn't being snooty, don't be so sensitive. I was just saying the pictures are in the thread. It's the SWAT Classic (the long quad rail).

I'm not sensitive, I'm a smartass. LOL Very nice weapon, BTW. I went back and found the pics. We're allowed to qualify and carry our own rifles in the squad cars, so my next purchase will be an AR or the SWAT patrol 556, But I first have to get my hands on one and see if it "feels" right and how it fires before I actually pull the trigger. I have experience with the AR models, and I used to carry a Micro Galil at the department in Dallas, that's a very good gun too. But the barrel is too short for this department's regulations to carry on duty. The department gave me a choice for duty weapon, glock or sig 40 cals. I first fired a sig in the army back in the 90s, I think it's just an awesome gun, so I of course took the sig 229 enhanced elite. I love it. |

I was just in a Dick's Sporting Goods store looking for running gear, and decided to check out 556 ammo prices...jeesh. They wanted $8 for a box of 20 Wolf brand. Can't you find that online for like $0.20 per round?

I keep an eye out for PMC Bronze on sale, for plinking ammo. You can find it now & then for 6 bucks a box. I think the last lot of 500 I bought was at Cabelas I payed right at 5 bucks a box of 20. Other than having to ream the primer pockets. Its good brass for reloading. Most military brass like PMC will have to have the primer pockets reamed to seat a 7-1/2 primer properly. edit what kind of rifle are you shooting in 5.56 or 223? |

So, I had to get a flip to the side mount for it, and those are harder to find that you might think. Finally settled on one from Primary Arms, ran about $50. |

Alright gentlemen, throw out your positives/negatives on an AK-47 and AK-74.
Sig 556 is on hold for the moment. I will probably throw a tactical red dot sight on it for 100 yards and in shooting. Looking for a plinking gun that fires for less then $.20 a shot. My Saiga .308 is expensive to shoot. AK-74 1080 rounds military ammo for $129 AK-47 1080 rounds military ammo for $179 Let er' rip. |

You could always just get a .762 upper for an AR.
Here's one for $439. Comes with the bolt assembly as well. http://www.ar15broker.com/7.62x39_up...6_Pre-Ban.html |

So this qualifies as a 'gun accessory' right?
For those times when pulling the trigger will let the nearby zombies know exactly where you are.
