Would you trade the no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

We ran into this topic late Saturday night in another thread.

I personally don't like Cam at all. He's got a ton of talent, but is an absolute idiot. He can't even learn a full playbook. Newton has put up some big numbers, but they haven't translated into a lot of wins.

He is 13-19 as a starter over 2 years.

58.9% comp | 7,920 yards pass | 40 passing TDs | 29 INTS | 1,447 rush yards | 22 rushing TDs |

Would you give up our no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

Jonathan Stewart sucks quit kidding yourself. He's been in the league as long as Jamaal Charles and has almost half the production. He's an okay player at best. One 1,000 yard season to his name. That's not a stud on his own by any means. If anything he benefits from Cam being his QB.

Cam's WR's are...

Ted Stonehands Ginn
Jericho Cotchery
Corey Brown
Devin Funchess

If Alex Smith had those WRs we would win 5 games at best and this place would have melt down long ago because of it.

I think you guys are really getting through to Black Bob. It's not like he's going to continue trolling or anything.

It's not trolling. He has some sort of disease that prevents him from admitting he may have made a mistake.

Russell Wilson won a SB with below average receivers. Flacco won a SB with pitta, a receiver who only caught half of his targets, and boldin who was way past his prime.

Defense wins championships, kid.

Mike Shula deserves a ton of credit for the work he's done with Cam. He's helped him adapt from college spread to NFL pro style

Cam Newton is a sure-fire bust. I am so certain of this that if he is the Panthers' starting quarterback in 2016, I will buy a Cam Newton jersey and stand in the stadium parking lot in my underwear when the Panthers come to Tampa Bay and hold a sign proclaiming that Auburn rules over Florida and Carolina rules over Tampa Bay.

Let's ask Denver Broncos fans if they would like to trade Tebow for Newton straight up. They would laugh in your face. Football fans know even if the experts have no clue. We can spot a fraud when we see one.

In five years, when Tebow is leading Denver into the playoffs and Cam Newton is riding someone's bench, remember this article.

Anquan Boldin was so past his prime that he went to San Francisco and had back to back 1000 yard seasons.

People forget how Cam behaved when his team wasn't winning. It was pathetic. And he is motivated for all the wrong reasons so when things begin to slip, he's not the type of guy to rally the troops, he's the one that will run away from adversity

He's also right in that Cam's accuracy is pretty suspect...he's only completed 55% of his passes over his career. Just wait and see what happens when his O-line is disassembled over the next couple years and he no longer has running backs to carry half the plays for him. Ted Ginn will be gone along with Cotchery so their options are depleted at the veteran position. How do you expect him to continue rolling with just Funchess and a highly overrated K benjamin?

Kaepernick 2.0, I'm calling it right now.

He's already got 30 more career starts than Kaepernick. He can't really be version 2.0 of a guy who would kill to match what Cam has already accomplished.

Also, don't you think it's sad your boy was benched for Crapernick?

Oh no....he's losing Ginn and Cotchery. How ever will he survive throwing to Funchess and Benjamin?!??!?

And you still haven't backed up your "past his prime" Anquan Boldin bullshit.
