Lost to all 3 teams twice. That should tell you something. I'm not looking for an "I told you so" when it comes to Alexis Smith, I have been watching him since day one. I hated this decision from the beginning. I'll never like it because I already know what Smith is about.
That sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy. Good luck being miserable.

heres what bugs me about the Contract talks being a smoke screen...

#1 if there was no way we were going to draft a QB...then why throw that out there? all it did was help Phili because Cleveland would want to get ahead of us. Which means, whatever they gave to phili to jump to 22 means they pissed it away because we were never going to take Manziel.

#2 if it was a smokescreen, we shafted our selves in contract talks unless the deal is already done. now Smith's side knows we are out of luck at QB and since we already spent TWO 2nds on him....then KC is even less likely to play hardball with him.

#3 even if the deal is done and hes been signed to an extension...that buys us maybe another 2 -3 years with him depending on how he plays? Hes just turned 30 and i doubt he will "Farve" it and play till hes as old as Joe Louis which was 137 (source, the barbershop in Coming To America). So if he gets hurt (knock on wood) were stuck watching Daniels or being gay for Bray.....

1. If a QB gets picked ahead of us because they thought we'd draft them, it kicks a player down to us.

2. Him not signing could very well be a good thing. If he stinks it up next year, we dodge a bullet. If he lights it up, we end up paying a bit more... but if he plays in that highest percentile, who the hell cares?

3. 30 is the prime of a QB. He could very easily play for the next 5-7 years.

1 no one ahead of us was taking Ford.

2 I concur with #2 but that still doesn't say we will go QB next year. only positive about next year is that we will be picking earlier than 23. if he stinks it up then its good for us.. if he plays balls to the walls then we over pay.

3 again, to an extent i agree but have little confidence is that type of situation working out for us.

There was some speculation Philly wanted Ford.

Eh, agree to disagree then. Only note I'd throw in there is Eagles were at 22, went defense when they did pick. They very well COULD have, but no way to prove one way or the other. Not to mention, the Falcons were trying to move up to get him.

Ya think? Lol, they drafted Marcus Smith in the 1st round. There's no way that they wouldn't have preferred Dee Ford over him.

then we can all be excited by the pick last night. im not ANTI it, im just not thrilled. in the end, maybe thats a good thing because i dont want the picks to follow the consensus mock drafts. one way or another, cant wait for the season to get here.

Your dreaming if you think a guy who couldn't stay healthy his entire career, with 2 shoulder surgeries, and a history of concussions is going to play until hes 37.

hmm, didn't catch that one. i figured they needed OL in a bad way to keep Foles from being killed. That would be interesting though. but who knows, woulda coulda shoulda. all my mojo is being focused on somehow getting KC back into the second rd.

No way Philly needed OL help.

Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, and Lane Johnson. They needed defensive help, not offense.

then why did their OL give up 46 sacks in 2013? only ones who had more were

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
New York Jets
Baltimore Ravens
Buffalo Bills
Cleveland Browns
Jacksonville Jaguars
Miami Dolphins

But maybe with Foles having another year under his belt, he naturally gets hit less. who knows.

I think Foles holds onto the ball too long and also Lane Johnson was a big reason for that. Houston destroyed him for 4 sacks in our game against them. You all thought that Eric Fisher was bad last season but he wasn't Lane Johnson bad. Eagles aren't going to give up on their top 5 pick rookie tackle though.

When we played the Chargers, Broncos and Colts, was it the offense or the defense that struggled? After you answer that, match that up with what KC picked up in the 1st round of the draft.
