Could it be any more fitting that Reesing finished his face down in the Arrowhead endzone, safetied under a pile of black and gold?

They don't enjoy the fact that this MU team is incredibly young and returns almost all of their players from the 2-deep. Some MU fans just like to feel like crap, regardless of the situation.

So, once again, don't feel too badly because, evidently, many MU fans are taking the win much worse than you are probably taking the loss.

Edit: I'm not talking about the posters below, as their points are at least somewhat valid. Some of the reactions on PM are not.
Here's the problem:

Sometimes being stubborn is just being ****ing stupid.

If KU wants to run your guys out and open up the flats for swing passes and screens, and shows no interest in running the ball, why in the god **** would you let them continue to do it?

It was like watching Napoleonic-era war tactics. Pinkel kept sending the wrong personnel out into the meat grinder.

It's pretty obvious that KU doesn't (and shouldn't) trust Reesing beyond 15 yards. We should have just gone into a dime with Weatherspoon at the Mike and played the short zones all day.

Combine that with some horrible on-ball adjustments by MU defenders, and an abysmal pass rush for 3.8 quarters, and you have a very pissed off fan base.

Imagine how mad you'd be if you were a Colts fan, and your team couldn't sack Carr with the 2002 Texans line protecting him. That was the pass rush today.

Plus, everything that is awful about the spread reared its head today. 3rd and 1 should have cost us the game. Mangino's lack of faith in playing under center cost his team the game.

Missouri pissed away a lot of RZ opportunities against a bad football team.

Ultimately, this game showed why Gary Pinkel teams have a knack for going 8-4. It's better than the early 90s, but this program needs more than that, both in recruiting and during game day.

The sad irony is that the one saving grace of Mangino, his game day coaching (which is worlds better than Pinkel) cost him the most today. He thoroughly out-gameplanned Mizzou. It was embarrassing, actually.

Danario Alexander is the best receiver in college football. It's criminal he didn't even make the finalists for the Biletnikoff Award.

You mean a 2* Pinkel recruit is the best in the country?

Screw the Biletnikoff. We'll start the Nario Award and give it to the best WR in the country instead of the most hyped one.

I'll give him props for getting 2* guys like Weatherspoon and Alexander to be the best players on either side of the ball.

That aside, his in-state recruiting leaves too much to be desired. We should get half of the top 20 kids in this state every year at the minimum.

We don't offer half of the top 20. I'll have to look it up this year, but we typically don't offer more than 7 or 8.

And that, in and of itself, is stupid.

You can't just try and get all your recruits from South Lake.

I think I may be wrong for this year. I think we offered around 10 and have missed on several. Some are still looking around (Bourbon & McDonald) while others the staff "cooled" on (lil Gabbert, Hill-who was originally an MU commit, and Rome). MU lost Millard, Terry (who may be looking around), and Gabbert (originally). They did NOT offer Shumpert (puzzling), Hefley, Kirksey, Kaiser, White, Rainey, Mattes, Belfonte, etc.

Honestly, if we land Lucas, I'll be thrilled with the in-state recruiting this year. Demien, Ealy, Lucas, Gaines, and Gatti will be an outstanding MO class.

You can criticize Pinkel for a lot of things, but his in-state recruiting isn't one of them.

Obviously, getting guys like Maclin, Coffman, Richardson, and Gabbert are great in-state pickups. The 2008 (Gabbert) class is the one Pinkel needs to try and replicate. The last two have been pretty shaky, IMO.

Case in point: you should not be losing in-town recruits to Nebraska and Oklahoma (Rome and Millard).

It's going to happen a couple of times a year. No program lands every single recruit. Until we take the next step, Oklahoma's going to be able to grab a player here and there. For the most part, he's slammed the door on Nebraska.

I'll take him getting Maclin and Gabbert back from Oklahoma and Nebraska over losing Rome and Millard every day of the week.
