Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

When the will of the people told them to go **** yourself, they put people inside of the ATF that can do things unilaterally.
I would say "Thank goodness" that they didn't go after the ammo I use, but it's only a matter of time before they try. |

The only gun I have that I don't have enough ammo to last me a lifetime for at this point is the AK and that's because I have only had it a few months. This last order will put me at 3K rounds and I will keep buying here and there until I hit 10K.

Of course, because raising the cost of ammo will keep criminals from getting it just like background checks work for them not getting guns!!!

[QUOTE=petegz28;11326316]I couldn't tell you.
Probably between 40-50k + of .380, .38. 9mm, .40, 45, 45 mag, 5.56, .308, 30-06, .270, .338 Lapua Mag. Most is 5.56 and .308. Almost every round I own is hand loaded. I don't mess with the off-shelf stuff unless it's for my AK or SKS. Sierra Match King FTW. For cheap plinking the Midsouth dog bullets are awesome and only cost .08 a piece when purchased in bulk. With powder and prime that's about .20/round for a bullet that will smoke almost anything off shelf for accuracy. I told my dad I might rest easy at 100k. Bullets are an investment at this point. Amazing. In less than 24 hours since finding out about this, damn near every one of my usual online ammo sources is out of M855. I already had a small stash I purchased last year, but never touched it. Probably should've bought more before falling asleep.
This stuff is gonna be the new .22LR. Everybody wants it now that they can't have it. |

I just might buy some more today just for the hell of it. With the current administration in the White House, anything gun-related purchase is turning out to be a financial investment. |

I'm gonna go check out Walmart and the sporting goods stores just to see if the locals have caught on yet.

I bet they haven't but after the water cooler gossip on Monday there will be a mad rush. I bet I could head over to Cabala's just down the road and buy cases if I felt so inclined. My guess is by next weekend it will be completely dried up.

I went ahead and purchased some PMC X-Tac M855 online from Sportsman's Guide. Got free shipping along with a discount for using my Sportsman's Guide credit card, and used their 4-Pay plan. Probably the best deal out there at the moment. It came out to 38.5 cents per round. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/produ...-ammo?a=745158 Free shipping code is "SH1390" for anybody that wants some while its in stock and reasonably priced. |

At the prices 855 is going, just save your money and get better ammo.
This particular scare is kind of stupid. There is plenty of other ammo out there that is much better. Of course, this will strongly hurt the brass market since a lot of 2nd hand brass is from 855. |
