Gambling Thread - Week of September 26-27
MOST IMPORTANT - If you are not on the Leaderboard (click here) then I am not placing your bets. Check the leaderboard before you bet.
Everyone starts with 10,000 credits. Read the Rules (click here)carefully. If I catch any errors in your bets before the game starts, I will try to notify you, but I am not ultimately responsibly. After you are sure of the rules come back here and place your bets on this thread. The odds are on Week Three Odds - Click Here Important - The Monday Night Game does not yet have odds released. I will check again tomorrow I will take your bets from this page and place them on the Week Three Odds Page I STRONGLY advice that you refresh the pages before referring to them, especially if you have cookies activated. Also note this very important fact: You are responsible for insuring your bets are placed accurately. Check it to insure your bets are correct. Remember - only you can prevent bad bet placement IMPORTANT RULE - DO NOT EDIT YOUR BETS AFTER YOU HAVE PLACED THEM. INSTEAD START A NEW REPLY WITH THE WORDS "CHANGE BET(S)" AT THE BEGINNING OF THE POST This will help me in keeping up with bet placement and changes without becoming an accountant and referee. |

But I have some issues with the game after this weekend Hoover. There seems to be some cheating going on, as a $5000 bet on Tampa Bay disappeared sometime Sunday night after the game started, or Monday morning sometime. I can not prove it was there, but I saw it on at least three occasions Sunday night. I stopped by to see how everyone was doing, and debated betting on the Oakland/Tampa game. So I was in this thread at least three times late Sunday afternoon, and saw the $5000 bet. Even though this is just a game, I am not sure I want to play if it is not on the up and up. It is just the principal of the thing, if you know what I mean. |

I know its just a game, so I get even more pissed when someone pulls that crap. I wish I could back you up but I can't, I placed my bets without looking at other peoples bets. I think I should be a little over 20 K as well |

I placed my bets but did not delete any posts or remove any bets from the board. For future reference, I can take a date stamped image (jpeg) from the board before kickoffs showing bets. You can also quote my bets to stamp them if you would like - any altering of your posts would have my name attached. For this issue I can tell you I did not delete bets after the fact. I don't know who did, if it occurred.

Coogs, there is no change in the post count for this thread that I can see.
Again, I recommend you quote the bets in the future of all moderators. That will make a second statement for the same bet that cannot be altered.

I know who made the bet. I know it is gone. I know it left sometime between the middle of the first quarter and Monday morning. If that person decides to fess up, I would feel better about playing in this game. If not, I may still play.... but then again maybe not. I'll just have to see. But I will not divulge who it was. They know who it was, and they know that I know. I'll probably loose a bit of respect for that person, but knowing that they know that I know is enough for me. |

Coogs -- just for perfect clarity -- are you saying that a post was DELETED, or are you saying that a post was EDITED??

There was a post from one of the contestants made somewhere around 6:00 PM Sunday night, give or take a bit of time. All the post said was... Bucc's +3 $5000 .... or something pretty close to that. I was on the thread three times between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, give or take a little bit. I saw the post every one of those times. Monday morning when I checked the thread, the post was missing. Can I prove it was there? No. But I know it was there. Copying that persons bets for future reference will not do any good, as it will probably not happen again. Point is, it happened once. It is like one of the players getting a $5000 mulligan. And even though this is just a game, it makes the game not fair. I'm sure everyone else who is playing would like to have an extra $5000 added to their total too. Coogs - really dissappointed in this turn of events. Last edited by Coogs; 09-29-2004 at 08:20 AM.. |

If I can't get my $5,000 bet on the Chiefs/Carolina moneyline back, then I'm done with this game.

Coogs,
If your so pissed just call the dude out. I don't like people cheating, and its stupid to do so in a game with only bragging rights. So call the dude out or drop it. |

I'm serious. I'm done with this game if I don't get a refund.

The thing that is odd, is that if someone would have edited thier post we would see a line saying that the post was edited, same thing if it was deleted.
Very odd. |
