Great tv shows on dvd?

Recommend some shows i should buy on dvd that i could catch up on...

I currently am about to finish season 1 of "24" and i have all 6 seasons so far on dvd. I also watch Smallville on dvd and just recently purchased "its always sunny in philadelphia" season 1 and 2 on dvd.

Current shows i watch on tv are basically The Office and Hells Kitchen.

Are the FX shows worth a gander? Like "Rescue Me". I assume Heroes is a great show i need to get as well

My tv shows on dvd
Smallville
24
Arrested Development
Firefly
Southpark,Family Guy, Simpsons
The Office
Its always sunny in philadelphia

Mad Men. It's the best show on TV right now by a mile.

This clip is great on it's own, but only watching the entire season could prepare how mind blowingly awesome it is in context.

In a nutshell, in case you can't sense it, there is profound subtext to Don's pitch, and it shows how [and how well] he takes all of life in, the good and the bad, and creates his craft, the ad pitch.

MOF, It's so powerful a clip, in context, that I'd suggest you not spoil it, if you're already certain you're going to watch.

Rewatching it went beyond bawling to shuddering and convulsing.

PS I like the show.

I just picked up the complete series of the Wire (5 seasons) for $90 on Bestbuy.com

All HBO DVDs are 50% off right now.

I actually picked up Season 1 and 2 last night for $27 each, but when I saw this deal I bought the whole series. I'll take the Season 1 and 2 back tonight to get a refund.

I also picked up Season 1 of Flight of the Conchords last night for $13.49.

Great show.

And the lyrics are as positive, and affirmative, as anything I've heard in rock.

I don't know if any of this will interest you, but I've watched a few older TV series on DVD by getting them from the library, blockbuster, or netflix.

The Rockford Files - Detective drama from the mid 1970s starred James Garner as a pardoned ex-con private investigator who used his wits, his driving skill, and his ability to con information out of people instead of a gun to get the bad guys.

Stargate SG-1 (and Stargate Atlantis) - My whole family really enjoys these. We've been watching a few episodes per week for the past few months. We're on Season 8 of SG-1 and we just started watching Atlantis.

Combat! - 1960s WWII drama. It was critically acclaimed at the time but it's pretty ancient by TV standards today. I used to see it in reruns as a kid so I watch mainly for the sake of nostalgia.

I also endorse some of the shows mentioned earlier like Firefly and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

That's an amazing deal. I might have to go do that myself.

DO IT!

The funny thing is that I've only seen the first 2 episodes of season one, so I hope that I like the show. I liked the 2 episodes.

I am pretty sure I'll like it based on its reviews. I need a cop-drama show anyways.

The Wire and The Sopranos and The Office are my choices. I'm getting Rome for Christmas, so we'll see how that goes.

I disagree with the people who were lost by Lost. It continues to be a kick ass show afaic. I'm a little less gung ho about Heroes although I still watch it hoping it will rebound to the quality it demonstrated in season 1.
