There was big snafu last year after the [black] family member of someone on UA's board of directors was snubbed on bid day. This caused a lot of reporting from the student newspaper (which has had some killer reporting over the last 5 years) over the rush system & UA's president suspended Greek recruiting efforts for about a month. She opened them back up with a implied mandate to include some people who weren't white, and a few black & Asian students joined a couple of sororities.

Sidenote: the bid process is not open to the media this year, and that school president is no longer the school's president. Greek money goes HARD in Tuscaloosa.

Not a lot of whining about the fat girl chi or kappa Latina zeta or gamma Japana...
Apart from the historically black sororities...not really. That video is a very representative sample.

But the diversity thing is odd. It seems like they'd want more diversity just from the standpoint of their secret lesbian hazing. You can only watch so many naked blonde white girls kissing each other before you start yearning for a little variety.

I didn't even see an Asian girl in there. It's a college, for crying out loud. There are going to be Asians everywhere.
The point of criticizing an explicitly exclusive organization for not being inclusive is that you set the framework up for taking down said organization.

So it's just like grade school recess when they pick teams for kickball? Big group where half the girls are happy and screaming and the other half gets to walk away publicly humiliated. Sounds fun.

Yup.

But if your mom played for a particular team, they are obligated to pick you even if you completely suck. That's called "being a legacy".

It doesn't quite work that way for the women.

AFAIK, the NPC dictates a system that pretty much every girl who wants to join a sorority will find a chapter that will be willing to offer them a bid.

Whether or not that's the chapter the girl wants to join is a completely different issue. And the girl will know this fact well before Bid Day.

Is there any better way to prepare these young women for the real world than to teach them that nepotism will take you further than talent? Greek life: Preparing Tomorrow's Douchebags Today!

I went with a buddy to party with some SWMS sorority bitches years ago.

We watched part of their competition for best sorority and it was one of the stupidest ****ing things I have ever seen.

The girls thought it was big-time important. Dumb skanks.

Saw in one article on this subject that 90% received bids at Alabama, but black women were batting .000 with a few rushes each year
