Yes it is. I've done that though. I've talked to the retention department each and every time. Some CSR's were really nice and just said basically there's nothing I can do on this account.

Not sure if the latter applies to you, but it's that type of thing they look at. |

2 years ago I had a ton of discounts on the account and they gave me Sunday Ticket for free.

The past two years I've gotten a really nice CSR. That helps a lot. Both have been on the first call that I've gotten it for free.

I'm NOT touching NFL Sunday Ticket in any way until I see how the Chiefs look this season. FINALLY LEARNED after 12 years!

If you have a relative willing to give you their password you can do WatchESPN online by logging in with their provider account.

I think the NFL Mobile app (if you have Verizon) streams the Sunday Night, Monday Night and Thursday Night games.

I've been really close to cutting the cord. About the only thing keeping me back is live sports, particularly the Chiefs. I have DTV because of Sunday Ticket, and that's it. I can pretty much stream everything else (although I might miss a college football or basketball game here or there if I cut the cord).
Anyway, DTV and NFLST have been setting me back a ton, and I've got a kid about to start college, so we're looking to save money anywhere we can. Couple of weeks ago the wife called DTV to ask them if we had any contract obligations (such as the DVR). They asked why. She said we're thinking of dropping DTV to save money. The CSR noted we've been customers since 2000 and immediately said he would cut our monthly DTV bill AND NFLST in half for the next 12 months. So that helps, and it gives me another year to see how the streaming TV environment shakes out, and whether I could talk myself into dropping NFTST. I just wish the NFL would decouple itself from DTV. |
