I think thats the holdup.

Mia and KC have agreed on compensation. (reportedly)

Mia is willing to pay Albert what he wants (reportedly)

KC has not pulled the trigger yet. Why?
  • They are waiting to see if another team will give up more than Mia for him via trade (Arizona? Detroit?)
  • They are entertaining a trade down from 1.1, which means that we keep Albert because there aren't other LT alternatives.

John Clayton said they don't want to tip their hand. The only reason you don't want to do that is you believe you have a chance to trade the top pick.

There is no Luck or RGIII in this draft. There are no truly elite players, just a bunch of solid ones. There is no one worth trading up to #1 for. The dream of us trading out is not happening. We are stuck at 1.1 and that is why we are trying to get rid of Albert. At least we can draft his replacement while replacing the compensation we gave up for Smith. This will allow us to get a QB in round 2.
