We got to talking about words people mispronounce at work this morning...

How about these: "ibuprofren" "iodeene" "flustrated" ....

Here's one that's going to shock a lot of people.

It's not "ay-moral" or "ay-sexual". It's "a" as in "cat" and "jack". Look at the word "agnostic". The prefix is "a" added on to "gnostic". Your don't pronounce it "aygnostic".

Go ahead and look it up in the dictionary. They'll probably list both as correct, only because so many people say it the wrong way, that it's just been put into the English language to make it easier.

Just FYI, but agnostic is a special case because it starts with a silent consonant.
