Hindsight poll: Should King Carl hired Mike McCarthy instead of Herm?
We had our choice of any coach that off season. The Chiefs job was considered the best of all the open NFL jobs.
Should have King Carl hired McCarthy over Herm? Or someone else other than those two former Chiefs assistants? Is McCarthy getting credit for Farve's rebirth? Is he resonsible for the Packer rebirth? Is it too early to decide on Herm yet? Mike McCarthy's resume and Bio from packers.com http://www.packers.com/team/coaches/mccarthy_mike/ Herm Edwards resume and Bio from the chiefs website. http://www.kcchiefs.com/coach/herman_edwards/ |

McCarthy should have been hired just for the meltdown. Hell, the meltdown of the Packers' fans went several stages of nuclear, and they had no history with him.
Imagine if we'd hired a first-time head coach coming off one season as the coordinator of the worst offense in football, and who's previous claim to fame was being a Paul Hackett diciple here in KC. Carl would have been dragged out of his office by an unruly mob, they'd have set up a gallows, and Carl would have been hung on the 50 yard line at Arrowhead. And, as it turns out, McCarthy is a pretty good coach. So two birds with one stone. |

Looking at the results, this may be the worst poll ever created. LOL

I think he should have, in hindsight, hired Jesus Christ. Goatse would probably agree.

Uh-oh...check out this quote from the new wonderboy that I'm sure is to have many of you changing your mind:
---------------------------- Grant's ascension -- five 100-yard rushing games in the regular season after taking over the No. 1 job in Week 8 -- transformed the Packers from the worst rushing team in the league after seven weeks to one that fits the philosophy of coach Mike McCarthy, who calls the plays. "I'd run it 50 times a game if I could; that would be a perfect game," McCarthy said last Friday. Against Seattle, Green Bay ran on 35 of 59 offensive snaps (59%) and averaged a lusty 6.7 yards per carry. -------------------------------- http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...and0121/1.html |
