Falcons fans down here really liked him, said he was a guy they couldn't lose in FA. Probably a better signing than people around here seem to think.
Maybe if we signed him to the highest paid contract for a LB in league history we'd like him more? |

From Rotoworld:
"Let's hope he's not another Kendrell Bell. Williams is a rangy defender who has always racked up tackles, but there are questions about his toughness. He fits the Kansas City mold as a young defender with speed and should start right away." |

He seems like a fast, explosive athlete. I'm pleased Herm is looking for those type of players. Or wait, is it Carl?

I'll take it.
If the Chiefs can have at least two young linebackers that are above average (DJ & DeMorrio), along with two above average defensive ends (Hali & Allen) and two young safties (Page & Pollard), the Chiefs may be in a position to grab a superstar DT this year and a superstar MLB next year. In that case, this defense could be set for years to come. |

They were playing Edwards at Mike for a lot of 2007, anyways.
This makes a lot of sense to me. Load up with youth on the defensive side, put in Edwards as a veteran leader at MLB. Load up with youth on the offensive side, put in Waters as a veteran leader at C. The team's making some smart decisions, but as per usual during the Herm era, they're all low key. I don't think Harris was awful. I think he was definitely below average, though. I'd love to keep him on as a reserve (highly unlikely all 3 starters will be healthy through 16 games), and since his age isn't that bad either, I'd like to keep him. Of course, he's too expensive to be a reserve... so we need to restructure. If we can't restructure with Harris, I support losing him. Key Fox is out there, exploring right now. He was promising but he never lived up to it. I'm fascinated in Nate Harris as a reserve, and I think we might have a shot with Baldwin. Thoughts on these particular reserves, anybody? |

Yeah, me too. He is fast. I don't know what to think, I'm cancelling my NFL ticket though unless they sign Ty Law, that much I'm sure of. |

I remember him as a quarterback's nightmare. I can proudly wave the flag for the guy.

Good signing, but I'm perplexed why everyone seems to think this is the end of Napolean Harris. This is competition for Donnie Edwards on the outside. Donnie is an older vet, who is likely on his last years.

Mar 1 Williams visited with the Chiefs on Friday, the Kansas City Star reports. Recommendation: Kansas City has more pressing needs than linebacker, but the Chiefs were underwhelmed by Napoleon Harris' play last season. They also need to start preparing for life after Donnie Edwards, who will be 35 this season. If Williams signs, Kansas City may move Edwards to the middle (bumping Harris out of a starting job) and let Williams play his natural weakside position, which could give him solid value as an IDP.
