Chiefs Ink Peterson, Look To Sign Ricks

America's Heartland will have a new kicker to cheer for on Sunday. NFLScoop has exlusively learned that the Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent kicker Todd Peterson and waived Pete Stoyanovich in a late Tuesday roster move. The team will also sign WR Mikael Ricks as their 5th wide receiver and that move could happen as early as Wednesday morning.

Peterson was cut in Seattle after an abdominal injury slowed him during training camp. Peterson's salary wasn't in favor either as the 'Hawks opted for rookie Kris Heppner who they later waived.

While Peterson will not kick-off, he would bring consistency to the position, something the Chiefs have lacked this season. Incumbent kicker Pete Stoyanovich is 2-4 on field goal attempts. One of Stoyanovich's misses cost them a week two victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Ricks, released last week by San Diego, brings incredible size and undeveloped talent to the position.

This is very weird...i get the blank page too....but....I just click on the "address box" above to try to type in a new address...and all of a sudden, the page starts loading. Very weird....but if i just leave it alone...it stays blank.

It appears that some of you are using a beta version of IE 5.5

We have removed the "idaho" script until a solution can be reached.

This move put me on a high today that I didn't think I could come down from. That is until I locked my keys in my car then had it overheat on me later. [img]http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif[/img]

Anyway, i'm extremely relieved to be free of the frustration and worry Stoyo has caused me this last year. I had to worry over each and every kick. If Peterson can maintain his FG % I will be VERY happy! Now maybe our STs have finally gotten turned around and will become a positive rather than a constant worry.
