I Need To Ask A Favor
My mother was admitted to the hospital this morning with a stroke. I know that everybody says this, but we're talking about a very special person for whom suffering would be more than unfair. Her living will does not allow for anything beyond comfort care and, at this point, she cannot take food.

I'm asking that those of you who believe in God might say a prayer for her ... that she might improve, or if it is her time, that she not suffer.

For the unbelievers, just a positive thought sent the way of a great woman who is in peril would be appreciated. God will know who you're talking about.

Sadly Mr Fax I went through this with my mom not too long ago. She suffered a stroke that took away her ability to speak and write. She went a year like this.

I would pull out her photo albums and show her pictures of her life all the way to the latest great grandchild. I did it this in hopes of jaring her memory and helping her recover.

I was amazed as she would say the names as I showed the pictures. She never regained the ablity to talk other than a few words and the names. She suffered her last stroke and it took her life.

My mom was a God fearing wonderful person. When us kids took over her bills we were stunned to see she was sending out around 40% of her fixed income (which was very modest) to charity.

The reason I tell you this is to let you know I understand, and that even though she may not be able to tell you she is still there, talk to her the same as you would have before.

You and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers my friend.
