This year's secret weapon will be...

...who?

Connor Barth?

Brad Cottam?

Bobby Sippio?

Mike Cox?

(There's an entire thread where Niswanger blocks Sainy-Dic to open up a big hole for Cox waiting to happen)

And our QB's nickname when he screws up - Groty Boil.

VARSITY
It would appear that Mike Merritt is already halfway there on the secret weapon moniker.

If our field goal kicker is our secret weapon, then season over. That would be awful, unless he's going to kick 10 field goals each game (and has 60-70 yd range) ...

Easy. Sippio. Don't be fooled by so called "lack of seperation". Croyle needs a good passing year so Sippio will emerge.

IMO... Franklin will have a solid year if the O-Line stays intact and gells a bit. I believe he'll play above the level expected from a 4th round selection and become a solid #2 WR by seasons end. From what I've seen so far, the depth chart should be Bowe, Franklin, Price, Webb, and a toss-up between Darling and Robinson. The #5 spot will be decided by ST contributions.

I think the depth chart at HB will be the suprise this year. LJ obviously will be the #1 guy. But, Jamal Charles will make one hell of a change of pace back similiar to the Dunn / Alstott combo Tampa had a few years back (Thunder and Lightning). The Chiefs might have shown too much of Dantrell Savage to sneak him onto the practice squad. His performance agaist the Bears will have several clubs looking at him and he'll never clear waivers. I look for the Chiefs to keep him as the #3 HB, cut Battle, and trade Kolby Smith to somebody with a preseason injury befor week 1.

At TE, it's SWEET to see Cottam in there punishing LB in the running game and respectable hands to force teams to take pressure off TG. They'll make the perfect combo for Chan's offense in two TE sets.

At DE, Boone is a failed experiment. He looked like somebody hit the slow motion button when rushing the passer. Brian Johnston better pan out, or our defensive strength could turn out to be out weakness this season. And Hali was getting mauled by their LT time and time again. Even if Dorsey becomes the beast all the experts believe he will, all it takes is one man to shut down Hali. At best, Tamba gets 10 sacks this season if Dorsey collapses the pocket consistantly.

At DT.... We don't have shit outside a hope Dorsey lives up to his potential. The Bears destroyed our interior line first, second, and third string.

At LB, DJ made some pretty sweet plays, yet Goonthur hasn't taught these pussies to stay in their gap and TACKLE. It's basic fundamental football taught in Pop Warner football. This bumping a guy with your shoulder shit and expecting him to just fall down is bullcrap. If the experienced vets are worried about an injury by wrapping up and driving their shoulders into their gut, then put the rookies in there who are hungry to EARN their position.

At Safty, Pollard better be looking over his shoulder, because Morgan knows how to tackle and deliver a hit that makes WR's regret catching the ball over the middle.

At CB, Flowers looks to be what we expected out of the draft and Carr might take over Surtains position by mid season. Patricks lost a couple steps and needs to be demoted to nickle as soon as Carr is ready to step up.
