I got to see this today. I personally thought it was a terrible idea from the moment they said they were going to do this movie. The original is a classic and this is just one of the rare movies you don't remake. But they did.
I honestly think if you haven't seen the original you probably won't mind it, I wouldn't be surprised if many of those people really like the movie. If you've seen the original, I think you're going to have a difficult time. It is different, there are several things this movie does way differently. I think it's just hard to capture the suspense of the original if that's what you're comparing it to. The thing that really bothered me, and I was glad to see several of the reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes say the same thing... product placement in this movie is horrible. About as bad as I've ever seen in a movie, but maybe I don't watch enough movies. Not subtle at all. |
