What does everyone think of supporter powers?

To add some background supporters pay $10 a month and they get the ability to issue infractions or warnings and if the person gets enough of infractions he gets temp ban for a day or 2.

Some of the people in DC are upset that shtsprayer got temp banned because of some comments he made and believe that supporter powers are too strong.

On the flip side DaFace made a good point yesterday that if it wasn't for the few of us supporters Malboro Chief would have posted a ton of porn yesterday but we were able to ban him almost immediately.

So what does everyone think? Good idea, bad idea?

LOL, weren't you the one complaining I gave infractions too frequently?

Oh, btw, I was responsible for one of those infractions. The first one. So....get off the drama queen kick. I felt it was inappropriate race attacking language. Nothing to do with politics or even personal opinion. However, I've enjoyed having you try to connect them with that.

FWIW, I don't think this should be allowed. It is in line with the crap Shithead was doing, it is offensive, and the fact that it's allowed here makes us look exactly like the rednecks others try to portray us as. But since it's his avatar and not in something he posted, there's not much I can do about it.

I agree for the most part, although I do think there have a been a few instances where someone was too quick with the trigger. I'll only use mine in extreme situations, for anything else I use the "report post" button and let the real mods deal with it.

And I'll never, ever under any circumstances infract someone in DC, I know damn well what I'm in for when I click that link.

Yeah the first Warning (not infraction) I gave was to DCS. If you recall his sig used to be way too big. I probably shouldn't have given that one.

I gave another one to FMB for being a n00b, but he got me back (both warnings not infractions).

All of the other ones I've given have been for bannable (sp?) offenses only. I think I've only given 2 or 3 infractions (red cards).

Carpet bomb the whole goddamn DC forum, and this is no longer an issue.

People there know it is loosely moderated, if at all, and are constantly pushing further and further to see what they can get away with.

Eliminate DC, and 90% plus of your problems disappear along with it.

Agree to disagree. I can tolerate strong opinions on both sides, I can tolerate and quite frequently engage in juvenile attacks and bashing, I can tolerate just about anything. What I can't tolerate is the continued use of race solely to insult, demean, or bash on someone. To me it aint right.

The mods shouldn't be moved to take an action that they wouldn't have taken based on their own judgment by a mere 3 (or 5) whiny snitches from a hall monitor, IMO.

Everytime I enter the DC forum (Probably less than 10 times since I joined CP) I feel like my head is going to 'splode.

Yep, and then they come to the main board.
What would be your solution to that?

Not to be too confrontational, but I will be anyways.

What makes you think that a Supporter doesn't understand what the difference is between a bannable and a non-bannable offense?

The rules are pretty clear cut. If you get dinged by a supporter, you probably would get dinged by a mod too. Its just that there aren't that many mods, so they are less likely to catch you.

Personally, I'd rather see the infraction stick handed to mod selected long tenured members.
I agree.

The only way I'd use it would be in the case of someone like Marlboro Chief.

As much as I absolutely despise Shtstrayer and his antics, I wouldn't ban him.

DC brings out the worst in people sometimes.

Me included.
