No, Jackson is not constantly in the backfield making plays. But he plays the gaps, is strong at the point of attack, stacks and sheds, doesn't quit on plays, and occupies blockers so the back 7 can make plays. That is what Pioli wants in a DE.
Thank you. This is exactly right. He isn't going to get 5+ sacks. But he's going to be extremely instrumental in getting an OLB behind him 10+ sacks.
