Another bacon thread since my son's fugtard friends have shattered my reality

We live in a rural area and most weekends my son has friends that come over to hang out and spend Friday and Saturday night.

Anyway when I usually make breakfast in the morning I always cook the bacon crisp. I've received feedback from my son that his friends think I over do it. It's not burnt mind you, just crisp enough to where it can be broken into pieces.

For me, chewing on pork fat is disgusting so I always order it cooked crisp if I'm eating breakfast in a restaurant.

So my question is, with poll to follow, crisp or limp bacon?

You get the point.

However, I do like it medium rare on occasion. Well done? If its thick bacon, yeah. If its the thin 3 bucks a pound Bar S crap, well done works.

Why can't you do both at once? When feeding a group, I always cook the bacon so that there's a variety of results. Ranging from soft and chewy to crispy...

I lack the necessary time to read these long threads about bacon. However, I do have an opinion on the matter.

Side one should be crispy. Side two, however, should be medium. Side two is the side facing upward when plated.

Crisp is better. My nephew likes it chewy and almost raw when he comes over and I don't get that.

True to form....I prefer mine, in the middle.

Not too crisp (too often it's crumbly, with a faint burnt taste,) but not limp either (fat needs a meaty texture for it not to be "yuck.")

Did you really expect anything different from me?

BTW with all the new Sports bars in town, you should drive north some Fri-Sat nights, and we could meet for a beer sometime....heck, maybe even with Delano or oldandslow (he could have lemonade, or something--if we could drag him off his personal reservation. Heh)

Unfortunately I've yet to see them make bacon flavored gum.

Even "crispy" there's plenty of fat on bacon; it's just charred by then. NTTAWWT
