Traveling to Dallas on I-35. Any good places to sightsee or eat along the way?

Isn't the Nimitz museum on the way? Isn't there a German influenced area where you can get good German food just off of I-35? My wife and I like to visit historical and military museums and battlefields.

The last time we went to Dallas, we stopped in OKC to see the bombing memorial, stopped in Dallas to see where Kennedy was shot, went to San Antonio to see the Alamo, went to Houston for fun, visited the San Jacinto battlefield and the battleship Texas, then drove back to Dallas for the rest of the week. We made up our own history tour of the state of Tx. It was a really fun trip. I'd like to hit more historical locations again. But, we don't have the time or money to deviate from I-35 or Dallas as much as we did the last time. But, I would take a day to drive an hour or two out of the way to see something really worthwhile. So, World War II in the Pacific museum (Nimitz museum) is probably where we'll go. If the German area is south of Dallas, we might go there for some food as long as it isn't too far past Dallas. I would take 69 or another route, but we plan to visit friends in OKC.

That's cool. We don't want you here either. Stay out of Arrowhead too, that's right off I-70. Hate for a tweaker to beat up a beaker.

We lived on Grant right off campus for our first year. Then we lived in a historic house that we were caretakers for there by the library on Oak. Then we lived a little further east of campus on Cowan for another year before moving back here.

I can see why you would work in Cheyenne but commute to live in Collins though. Good choice.

Cheyenne is pretty miserable. About half the STP creative team lived in FC though, so we had a good carpool group.

That does not surprise me. When I first moved here I was supposed to work in Cheyenne and we were depressed to think that we would have to stay there 3 years. We ended up renting a house there and right before I was supposed to start they decided to have me work in Collins instead. I ended up buying a house here and I am so glad I did before I got priced out. Now when I retire I have a house to move back to and my house should rent easily here which is always a plus for when I move.

I think that is because they are not right on Interstate 25. You could easily drive by it without ever thinking twice about it. Oh and the breweries are nice. There is also Ft Collins Brewery (Fat Tire is actually O'dells if I remember correctly) and there is a Bud brewery just north of town.

I lived on west lake near Blevins Middle school. Moved to start high school in kansas, so too young to remember bar stuff, but I used to ride my bike down to University area for an arcade, wizard something. They had a weekday special, like 5 bucks for all the games you could play. This would have been in the mid 80s.

Fat Tire is New Belgium. O'dell's is famous for 90 Shilling.
