Mock (1/5)

Predictions:

1. The Chiefs have the 24th overall pick, and the 49ers have our 2nd rounder. We have the Cowboys' 6th rounder, however.

2. The Chiefs resign OG Geoff Schwartz to a 2-year, $4m deal.

3. The Chiefs resign WR Kyle Williams, TE Sean McGrath, LS Thomas Gafford, ILB Akeem Jordan, NT Jerrell Powe and S Husain Abdullah to minimal deals.

4. The Chiefs let walk: WR Dexter McCluster, OT Brandon Albert, OG Jon Asamoah, DE Tyson Jackson, OLB Frank Zombo, S Kendrick Lewis, S Quinten Demps

5. The Chiefs cut: QB, Chase Daniel, CB Dunta Robinson

6. Chiefs sign WR Jeremy Maclin to a 3-year, $15m contract, and OT Winston Justice to a 1-year, $2m deal, S Bradley McDougald to a minimum deal.

The Draft:

1. DE Louis Nix, Notre Dame

One of the biggest weaknesses from the Colts loss was our inability to generate pressure. Houston/Hali is a fine combo on the outside, but Poe's starting to stall on his passrush, and DeVito and Jackson never provided much. I like Allen Bailey and Mike Catapano, but we need to stack this front line. STACK. IT.

3. QB A.J. McCarron, Alabama

Andy Reid always needs a guy he can develop from the ashes into a potential star -- he's done it too many times in the past. And I'm not sure if Bray is that guy.

McCarron can be. Smart decision maker who can excel in Reid's scheme.

4. FS Calvin Pryor, Louisville

The Chiefs need to beef up their secondary. I've had it with Demps and Lewis' poor angles and tackling. Here's a guy who can absolutely tackle; it'll be up to the Combine to determine if he's the athlete this team needs him to be. For now, I gamble that he is.

5. OT/OG Justin Britt, Missouri

A bit pie in the sky, perhaps, that Britt falls this far. But it is the NFL Draft we're talking about here.

Britt is a dependable shut down tackle for the Tigers, first team all SEC. However, he is not the gifted athlete that others will be.

6. OLB Aaron Lynch, South Florida

Pure athletic potential here. Long athlete, fluid and strong. Not terribly fast -- he's only a projected 4.8 guy and he looks every bit of it -- but I really like his length.

6. CB Nevin Lawson, Utah State

Lawson's a pure ball tracker -- great for press coverage, even though he is slightly small at 5'10". He's got speed to burn, however, and can be worth a gamble for a team looking for options beyond Sean Smith in the future.

7. RB De'Anthony Thomas, Oregon

Pure speed. This team needs as much of it as it can get.

McBeard,

You're a noob, so I'll give you some advice instead of Pest running you through the woodchipper.

Admit you screwed the pooch, and move on with the discussion. Instead of trying to convince everybody on the board that Floyd and Tate are even remotely the same kind of player.

Ah, well. Apparently you're not a noob.

You're just kind of an idiot.

Well then. Carry on.

Where is the depth?

Obviously it wasn't at safety, corner, olb, MLB, Oline, wide receiver, tight end.

Im curious to where this depth is.

I understand homer chief, is homer chief. But really.

I screwed up when I said Arizona. I admit it. Either way, Tate led the Seahawks in receptions this year. They are done with Browner's contract and will resign Tate. He is valuable to them. Maybe more valuable than Floyd is to Arizona. Especially when you consider they will be moving Harvin to the slot next year. I didn't plan to prove my point through all this explanation and I thought it was pretty obvious that he wouldn't hit the street.

So far pest has given a bunch of stupid opinions as far as I have seen. If he wants to give me a hard time for being a noob that's fine by me. I'm having fun.

Did you watch the San Diego game when the Chargers were fighting for their playoff life? Have you ever seen 21 back ups go against a set of starters like that in the regular season? There is no reason to go into depth and name specific players. I am far from a homer Chief. Go talk to the Bowe and Flowers cultists out in the lounge if you want to find homers.

A bunch of stupid opinions?

Let's see here.....you've said....

- Tate plays for Arizona.
- Floyd and Tate are the same type of player.
- We should trade Flowers for a 2nd round pick.
- We should trade Bowe.

And that's just today. Lest we not forget the glory that is....

- McCluster is quicker than Charles.
- Siler is a better tackler than DJ.

I did. I watched starters of another team, have zero film on half the guys that were playing, have to adjust on the fly, while fighting for their playoff lives, while a bunch of guys who no one has tape on, and nothing to play for, play the game of their lives.

I did. That doesn't however negate the fact that when Flowers, Houston, Charles, Knile, and Avery went down, that the Chiefs lack of depth got exposed ten fold.

To say there isn't depth, isn't to say there isn't ANY depth, but there isn't enough.

That's why Seattle, San Francisco, Denver are so effing good.

They have a complete roster all the way down to 53.

The chiefs have a very solid roster, all the way down to about 30.

What? I never said they were the same type of player. I said they had about the same value to their teams. I would trade Flowers for a 2nd. Preferably a 2nd and a 5th. We can't trade Bowe. Nobody would take his contract. I never said we should trade Bowe. I said we should cut him if he gets convicted and we can opt out of his contract. I am thinking there is a clause in there. As for the rest I don't know what crack you are smoking and I never said anything about those things.

Stay on point and quit spreading lies. We shouldn't be talking about Golden Tate in this forum anyway.

I don't agree at all. I even heard interviews with Chargers players saying they prepared for the exact same offense and defense. We ran the exact same offense and defense we ran all year. We changed nothing.
