If anything, its de-valueing the regular season, but realistically, its been moving that way for years.

Who cares if you lose a few games in Sept/Oct? Just hang around 4-4 or heck , even 6-6 until you get to December. Why not give your star players plenty of rest the first few months? Get everyone 100% healthy to make that run in Dec and Jan.


This is the system the NFL has setup now. The first half of the regular season just does not matter much.

example: Chiefs and Chargers this year.

NFL regular season games in Spet/Oct now the equalvilant of NBA and NHL games Nov - Jan

As long as it tosses the horrible 18 game idea out, I'm all for it. I think we can all agree that would piss any real fan off to no end. Needs to be 2 preseason games, 16 reg season, and 14 team playoff if they make the change.

I'm against this, but what you are saying doesn't seem to happen--at least not with adding playoff teams. Adding 1 playoff spot probably puts 2 or more teams into contention for that spot going into the lat week. In the end, fans like to be in contention.
