-- Please display ideas regarding the Jalapeno Pepper

I thought there should be a little something on this delicious snack/ingredient w/ a zing.

What do you all used them for - stuff them? dice and top stuff?

Interesting when deep fried - or - cooked period; how they'll lose their pungency , yet carry a nice green pepper-esque flavor.

Where and how do you use these toward your recipes?

Have you had ground jalapeno powder (spice) - what do you use it in?

I like the bacon and cream cheese combo w/ the jalapeno pepper.

What about snacks, chips or crackers or whatever that's jalapeno flavored??

Jelly Bellys....?

Anyone ever add to a juice (like from a juicer 'juice'?)

I appreciate any new, fresh ideas w/ these bad boys.

Thanks

Has the "hotness" of pickled Jalapenos changed over the years? When my late brother turned me on to them back in the late 80's the canned peppers were so hot that you'd crap pain for a day or two after eating them. And the juice would burn skin if you were not careful with it. Now they don't seem to be near has hot

Pepper Margaritas.

I muddle the peppers, jalapeņos, Serrano in the margarita mix ( which for me is just fresh lime juice and agave and ice). I use Hornitos repasado tequila. You'll find you get a high from the capsasian and no hangover. Good shit.

I don't know about canned peppers, but a sure fire way to know if a particular pepper is hot is how crooked the stem is. The more curved the hotter. If it's straight up, it's going to be more mild.

Yeah I think a lot of store bought jalapeņos have been tamed to appeal to a broader audience. Jalapeņo has great flavor, but not everyone wants the burning ring of fire.

If you look, you can find ones that are labeled as "hot". I don't know how they'll measure up to your childhood memories, but they are hotter than the mild ones.

Not a big deal, and if you hadn't doubled down on srvy I wouldn't have even commented. But geez, it was like 5 posts up, and only 2 removed from the one you were complaining about.
