Hypothetical: Would you trade Alex Smith for Peyton Manning?

In this hypothetical, assume that Peyton will come back for at least one more season.

Also assume that, by giving up each player, each team rids itself of the remaining contract and picks up the tab on the other as far as cap hits are concerned.

The trade is straight up. Player for player. Contract for contract.

I want to say Peyton's cap hit will be around $20 million next year and I think Alex is somewhere around $15 million (but keep in mind that we're basically locked into having Smith here for the next two seasons if he's still on the roster come opening day of 2015).

Would you make that trade?

Manning is done.

I think Fox will get fired, but he did the right thing my making the Bronco's a running game, and that didn't even matter. Oh, and Indy's pass D is horrible.

Pros:

Best shot to make the playoffs and make a legit SB run
Attract better FA's
A shit ton more exposure, and according to most of you we'll have the refs in our pockets
Gets rid of Alex Smith
Gives Alex Smith to Denver

Cons:

Oh noes, maybe another one-and-done

I don't think Alex Smith is some type of championship caliber QB, but I don't think Peyton Manning is one of those anymore either. Peyton would come here and will us to a few wins we might not have gotten with Alex on this team, but put Alex on that Bronco team with that line and receivers and you'd likely see an entirely new guy.

No offense, but what a stupid ****ing question.
Exactly. Manning could overcome the stupidity known as Reidtard.

Win win.

You think manning has a legit Superbowl run left in him after watching this season unfold?

He may or he may not.

But I certainly give him a better chance of getting a team to the playoffs and getting hot than Alex Smith.

And you're crippling a division rival in the process.

I just don't the k even with manning next year that bronco team can win 9 games.

This is more about how I feel with manning than Smith really.

I don't think he could get us to the playoffs next year.
