Tips for Buying Airline Tickets.

My bad if I'm creating a thread for something mundane, but I'm looking to get the best price on some tickets to California around thanksgiving.

So, which website/app does CP use to get the best deals on airline tickets?

Which days of the week are the cheapest as far as ticket prices are concerned?

Any other tips?

I don't dive. As a matter of fact, if anybody ever sees me in water deeper than a bathtub, please, for the love of all things holy, somebody call 911, something bad has just happened

But seriously, we are going to Okinawa, Japan next fall. If anybody knows of a site that would do something similar, book the entire vacation, I would be interested in looking at it. The wife has done some digging, but the more ideas, the better

And I will echo what others have said about Southwest. Cheap flying, very small and random seats. I would fly with them for a shorter flight, but traveling any distance, not this cat. I will spend the extra bucks and get a comfortable seat

Not to derail the thread - but is it illegal to fly with a parachute? I still don't understand why you can't pay more for a parachute. If that thing starts going down, I want an opportunity to dive off.

It just has to fit inside the carry-on space. And you have to be able to open the door with three flight attendants beating on you.

One of the airlines did some patent application about the entire passenger cabin (and hopefully crew cabin) having a big parachute where the fuselage would disengage from the wings and engines. It would be nice to have, but it would kind of stink for the people on the ground, though.

My down-the-street neighbors went to Japan last Xmas and the wife tells me they used:

https://www.zicasso.com/luxury-tours...-travel-agency

She also referenced this site:

https://www.gate1travel.com/asia-pacific/china-japan

Hope it helps.. I'd love to go back there too. My father was stationed in Yokoska when I was very young, and I think it would be a superb trip. Kudos to your wife..

I imagine when that thing is goin' down, they are going to be cowering in fear in the corner like everyone else. That is what I would be doing. But if I had a parachute!

I don't want to alarm you, but over 80,000 Americans visitors have been killed or injured in Okinawa over the past 80 years.

I think you stand a better chance of being a crispy critter in that car you drive than crashing in a commercial airline.

That little piece caused my sons' mother a good amount of worry earlier this summer as it came out a couple months before I was flying back to Iowa on Allegiant with them. Had to do the research to come to figure out they were talking about the shit bird planes to make her feel better.

I'm not saying that the controller was right in his claims about Allegiant, I'm just saying he's maybe going off of the fact that Allegiant might be the bulk of the emergency aircraft he comes across.

I appreciate the concern, but don't worry. I sent the boy ahead of us. He is there with several thousands of his buddies and they have guns and stuff. I think we will be ok

I’m done with commercial air travel. My last 4 trips were all disasters. If I can’t drive there, I don’t need to go.

I know but does that atc know what the severity of the emergency is and how many are false alarms due to the on board backup. Many types of emergencies like a sick or belligerent passenger.

More affordable fares allowing common folks affordable travel killed off most the legacy airlines and the comforts associated with them. Now what we got is flying ATA buses.
