The NBA, NFL and MLB are dreaming up ways to play amid a pandemic, with talk of isolating players in Arizona or Las Vegas or maybe on the moon. It all sounds great, until you talk to people who actually know science.

There is a new scientific study out today that says without a vaccine, we may have to practice social distancing until 2022.

I just don't see sports coming back any time soon. It really sucks for us because we launched this golden era of Chiefs football and now we are going to maybe miss a year? Thats some god damn because, Chiefs right there.

Hey our Florida governor declared the WWE and wrestlmania to be an "essential business" alongside grocery stores and gas stations. So we have that to watch for sports.....

Yeah you need to go educate yourself about that one. Things were shut down and people were kept apart during the Spanish Flu. Life didn't go on as people toughed it out.

I was just talking to a guy at the store about this. It’s sad that this along with all the Social Distancing shit is the new norm. Guess I’ll have to get use to a gloves, mask and shield when I go public.

While I agree with all this, I'm not giving up hope for the NFL. Murray at IHME believes if we isolate through most of May the virus dies out by June. I think there's a good chance the NFL will at least attempt the severe isolation model in that case. I'm least confident we can maintain isolation long enough given economic tradeoffs, which will mean ongoing infections and no sports. I'd like to see the government expand stimulus and shoot for the all in until it's sufficiently dead model, and hope that's only a month from now.
